It is a dipilatory mad for african american men.
"A major skin problem affecting Black men who shave is that of ingrown hair, which results when curly or kinky hair grows back into the skin. The problem most often affects the face and front crease of the neck, but can also occur on the back of the neck and the scalp. The skin may become infected with bacteria and, consequently, form bumps over the hair. The subsequent irritation causes the skin to darken, and when severe, permanent scarring may result. Continuing to shave aggravates the problem, for often the skin is broken and bleeding occurs."

Magic is an alternative to shaving. It works, I have used it but it works only as long as shaving works. If you normally shave every day you will have regrowth after using magic, at least I did.
I have very sensitive skin the magic powder worked wonderful not a single irritation. Yet when the following morning I seen regrowth I thought ok you sexy thing you time to do it again and I reapplied. BIG MISTAKE. I got chemical burns on the face! It took me days of using a triple anti-biotic cream to get rid of that, its still red but healing well!
I will not use again on my face. Because I need to be hair free constantly. In other areas where I might not mind a lil regrowth (down south) I might use to avoid razor burn.
So to make sure I answered your questions it is a powder you mix with equal parts water, you apply, 5-7 minutes later u scrape it off then wash up. Off goes the hair! It is good cause you dont get razor burn, it is not so good cause it can cause chemical burn and regrowth is = to shaving.
Hope this helped?
