Default major bleeding problems

i'm having major bleeding problems its even going through my pants and my pad and im using like two pads and im having bad cramping
im not new to pcos i have been diagnosed sometime ago
im wondering if i should go see a doctor or something or is this normal? im on birthcontrol that my doctor perscribed
its just im pretty worried that the cysts could be getting bigger or there could be another problem and my doctors always freaking busy she keeps putting me off for regular check ups

I to had that problem and mine period was lasting 30 to 90 days the doctors called it a natural dnc. I finally after four years of it being this bad they burned the uterus wall lining, so no children. It is really tough, I know I took a lot of b12 and iron tablets. If you want to know more about some things I did that helped just ask.

God! I feel you!! My period is probably my biggest complaint since being diagnosed 2 yrs. ago. It's so heavy, clots the size of lemons, cramps that make me want to vomit....last fall my obgyn decided that she would do a dnc...it didn't help at all. I've tried all kinds of birth control pills/shots...nothing helps, I'm miserable & no doctor I've seen seems to have an answer for me....I've even asked about hysterectomy, but they won't do it. As it stands now, I'm just waiting for the moment that I start hemmoraging so bad that they have to do something...pathetic, I know, but I'm lost.

Angry Hi Lottafun

Since they did the proceeder (burning the liner in Feb.) no bleeding at all thats the nice part. But it doesn't help with some of the emotional and that stuff. I see a knew doctor soon. I went this route because even when insurance said the would cover a full hystorectomy they wouldn't do it. Since then a bad pap and cyst in the ovary so it is not fun and I do relate. The bleeding I had was awful and I didn't want to leave the house.

Another vote to see your doctor.
I had a similar problem in 2003 and it turned out the lining of my uterus was thick to the extent that my body thought it was pregnant. I also had a couple of growths that needed be removed.

I would go to my doct. I have been struggling between excess bleeding and not having a period. When I am bleeding heavy my doct gives me medicine to stop the bleeding. (Norethindrone) Hopefully it also helps regulate so I have a normal period after I stop taking the med. If your doct. wont see you dont be afraid to find a new one.

Please read up on FIBROID TUMORS (I have a few links in my siggy)

It sounds worse than most are.
It could be as simple as having a blood vessal carterized.

Another issue could be the uteris lining has hemoraged.
This is one of the reasons to do a DNC. Often times the linning seperates from the wall and causes an infection. They would need to clean the infection out to help stop the bleeding.
The proceedure as mention before about burning the lining out is a drastic proceedure usually done as a last resort prior to a uterine hysterectomy.
Women who have this done usually go through many other steps to stop the bleeding before choosing this.

If you are placed on BCP, you need to be on an ESTROGEN ONLY pill.
The progestin in reg BCP can cause that type of bleeding in alot of women!
Most women are put on reg BCP with being told this and have little to no improvement with the bleeds. So cross reference any information you get and don't take any one doctors word for anything!!

Let me know if you need more information.

Patty

I am having this problem too with a now 4 week heavy bleed.

Have them draw your hemoglobin level now. My doc said if you are soaking a pad every hour it is considered to be hemmoraging.

Overnight is the worst, I leaked something aweful. I have a 5 yr old niece who had leftover pull ups, the diaper things. She no longer used them at night, so we had about 30 of them. I tore the sides open and used a pull-up in snug fitting panties as a gigantic maxipad at night. It worked good and I didn't leak because it was wide enough between the legs to catch any thing.

I have to wait unti jan 2007 to see a gyne in my town... its pathetic and horrifying to think I won't get seen until then..I have to out of town to see someone. Nothing about my period is consistent, I bleed for months then not at all for months then a proper cycle here and there.. I am all over the map and no one can get it right.. Every feel like you are going crazy everytime you move you are worried its going trough your clothes.. the only thing I where as pants are black, black pants, black shorts.. and skirts... you can forget it!!!!

Hope you doc has some answers for you!!!!
