Major Cramps--HELP!!!

Hey guys. I really need some advice. I have been on the glucophage-2550mg a day for about six months now and only recently the stomach side effects have come to kick me in the butt. I have had HORRIBLE cramp-like pains in my stomach and violent diarhhea. Why am I just now having these side effects? I go to see my doctor tomorrow so maybe he can give me something. Do any of you take anything to control the diarhhea besides Imodium?
