Default Make up?

What is a good brand of makeup that won't make me break out more?

I've had a lot of luck with the Neutrogena Clear Skin line. For coverup I was using Maybelline Blemish Control concealer and now I'm using Cover Girl fresh complexion (my acne is basically gone, I just cover up scars, so I switched from Blemish Control). I dust on Neutrogena loose powder to control shine.

Shiseido -- the Pureness line for oily/young skin. If you like compact makeup, they have a mattifying compact foundation that gives you a beautiful, soft, flawless look and stays amazingly well. I personally found that the compact makeup was better than liquid for controlling oil. When I had oily skin and breakouts, Shiseido Pureness was the only thing that took care of the problem without being too harsh on my skin. It is much gentler than Clinique or Neutrogena. I think that Neutrogena has great products too, but my skin was too sensitive. I found that the harshness of alot of the matifying products caused my skin to break out.

For the mattifying foundation, you have to buy the compact, which is $5 or $7 and then buy the refill, which is $17.50. But because it wears so well, you won't go through it as quickly as you would expect (3 or 4 months). And their products are SO GOOD for your skin!! Most major department stores will carry it, or you can buy it online.

I like clinque (no oil) and Jane Iredale. I really like Jane Iredale but it is really expensive and it is not sold it stores. I buy it from my dermatologist or online.

I don't have an ACNE problem BUT my sister does and everytime we would go out to the club or somewhere like that she would always wind up using mine because it literally hid her ACNE so well!

I use Clinique Super-Balanced cover-up! It's a bit spendy but it lasts a long time. I always had a bottle for about 4-6 months and I use make-up everyday even if I am only checking the mail!

Seriously though, my sister loved it and it hides blemishes and red blotchiness VERY well!!

Good luck babe!

I've had lots of luck with Estee Lauder's creme concealer and their DoubleWear foundation... excellent coverage! The concealer runs around 17.50 a tube and the foundation runs at $30 a bottle. However, the bottle lasts me around 4 months. Good luck!

I don't have a problem with acne, but I really like MAC makeup. The powder, called Studio Fix, gives an excellent coverage. It can be used wet, dry, or even as a combination. You can find it at big Dillard's stores. There are even MAC stores in big malls. It has never broke me out, nor anybody I know who wears it.

They have a complete line of makeup, all in beautiful colors!

Good luck in finding something that works for you!

I have tried every makeup on the market!! I really like clinique clarifying... I break out less and it covers very well! I have super sensitive skin and merle norman aqua base did quite a number on my face. I used it for 2 weeks- I stayed broke out for another month after i switched back to clinique. Thumbs up I gotta agree with Debbie

M.A.C. 's Studio fix is the best for me so far. It's a powder and the only oil in it comes from my skin later on in the day. I tried that Revlon colorstay; Broke me out like crazy So I went back to M.A.C. Give it a try..They have a large array of shades.

I live deep in South Texas and I also have very oily skin
The temps. down here go up to 112-113 so my make up melts by 11:00 a.m. The make up that I use right now is Shiseido and Channel Powder they seem to doing o.k. with me also I carry oil blotting sheets from Clean & Clear they are the best!

Like Julie, I like Estee Lauder double wear foundation, I don't wear a powder with it because it does dry quite matt ands stays put all day, no spots either!

Thumbs up

I love Almay Skin Stays Clean foundation - this has NEVER broke me out and I think it actually helps a little with my acne (it contains salicylic acid). I love it so much that I have 3 bottles of the stuff

I also recommend Clinique Superbalance Makeup. This gives good coverage (Almay is quite light but makes my skin look so much healthier than normal).

I set with Laura Mercier Translucent loose powder or MAC Blot Powder

I like Neutrogena too. My dermatologist told me to start using it about 2yrs ago and I have been ever since. I get the one for acne control. It has salicytic acid(sp) in it which helps with preventing more breakouts. During the couple weeks before my period, when I get my period, I break out regardless. I use Differin get during that time and it helps. It is a prescription.

Default Make-up

I use Mary Kay products. They are all oil and fragrace free (excpt Velocity line, which is fragranced) so they don't aggravate any breakouts that you already have, and they don't leave any oil on your skin. Plus they carry a great line of blemish control, oil blotters, etc.
