CoverFX's cream concealer is amazing at hiding my old acne scars... Its the only product I've tried that is actually thick enough to hide them well. http://www.sephora.com/browse/produc...egoryId=C17220

I have tried Bare Minerals and Sheer Cover. Both lines left my face looking old and dry. I also tried Mary Kay's foundation for Normal/Oily Skin and it did not control the oil and turned orange. I am currently using Cover Girl's Clean Makeup Oil Control and I like it.

Default Cant believe I did this, but...

I went to the MAC counter for the first time ever. Spent over an hour getting made up. That part was fun. But I spent a lot of money. Well I am trying out the Studio tech, Studio Fix concealer, and Blot powder. Praying for no breakouts. So far it is good coverage. Just getting used to the brushes and new application. Just thought I would share.

Is bare essentials the same thing as bare minerals?

I saw bare essentials at the store and it looked just like the bare mineral stuff from tv.

Deelish,
Yes, I think those are the same product.

I had a question for anyone who uses bare minerals--does it cause your face to burn if you get hot? It kind of sounds strange, but when I use it, within about 3 hrs of application if I get warm/hot, my face feels like its on fire or like there is acid being rubbed all over it. There is no redness or swelling, but it seems like a possible allergic reaction to me.

Ok. Even though I liked the MAC coverage for the most part....it was just not right for me. I still became an oil slick. So I tried Shiseido and I really like their Dual Balancing. But again, oil slick. And I go in to get their matte foundation and it is being discontinued. Argh. So I went to Makeupalley and a few other sites I frequent and checked out Illuminare. I bought the Ultimate All Day foundation. It is very matte. I am using my mattifiers under this as well. I have to say that the past two days, I havent had to blot but once per day and the blotting is occurring far into the day. This is great so far. I hate to get my hopes up. Oh and the Alabaster color seems to be my dead on color choice. Yes, I am that pale.

I've switched to mineral makeup and I am addicted. I've had really bad acne, thank you PCOS, and I've started using the Proactive cleanser and moisturizing lotion w/spf 15. Once I do that, I use Everyday Minerals on top of it and it does a pretty good job covering up acne. Now for bad spots, I may cheat and use a little bit of Neutrogena foundation to help block some redness, but other than that, I just stick with the Everyday Minerals.

They're extremely reasonable and I've just got my second shipment in. Because I don't really wear makeup much, I get the sample kit which is free, you just have to pay shipping, and a little goes a long way. You get 3 foundations, 1 face color, and 1 concealer. If ya'll want to try it, go to www.everydayminerals.com. I definitely recommend getting the sample kit first. I also bought one of the brushes, the flat top brush and it feels divine and hasn't shed yet.

Thumbs up MAKEUP that worked for me, BIG BIG time!

I went to Ulta to see if I could find the "PERFECT" makeup for me AND...I didn't think I would cause I NEVER have in my 32 years on this Earth, BUT...I did! My face looks FABULOUS! I can't even believe it is ME! I first purchased a concealer "Almay clear complexion concealer" It comes in a little tube. I LOVE IT! Then I bought the Purminerals 4-in-1, Mineral Glow, Marble Powder sample kit! LOVED LOVED LOVED it! I have since used it up and bought the larger sizes!

I know that some things that work for some of us, DON'T for others....been there, done that, SEVERAL times, but I just wanted to share because I am SURE that SOMEONE will find the same success I have with these products and if I can help ya....trust me...I want to!

Love ya sistas,

Kate

Mary Kay all the way here, make up and skin care ....but you have to get the products for oily skin. I loved them so much i signed up as a consultant ~

Also remember you have to nurture your skin and you need to be on some good viatmins!
I recommend Shaklee all the way!!!!!

bare minerals are great! I've been using it since Feb, and (when I use it regularly) it does seem to improve my skin. I just got some of their blemish treatment...we'll see how well that works...I've tried everything else.
there are a lot of make-up companies that are coming out with their own versions of mineral make-up...many of those have talc in them...you gotta look carefully to make sure you really are getting B.E. bare minerals. for the most part, you can only get bare minerals online...very few stores actually carry the "real" stuff, and those who do are mostly beauty salons.

I've started using the Bare Minerals by Id. It's really light and has great coverage.
