I also tried Mary Kay's foundation for Normal/Oily Skin and it did not control the oil and turned orange. I am currently using Cover Girl's Clean Makeup Oil Control and I like it.

That part was fun. But I spent a lot of money. Well I am trying out the Studio tech, Studio Fix concealer, and Blot powder. Praying for no breakouts. So far it is good coverage. Just getting used to the brushes and new application. Just thought I would share. |

I saw bare essentials at the store and it looked just like the bare mineral stuff from tv.

Yes, I think those are the same product.
I had a question for anyone who uses bare minerals--does it cause your face to burn if you get hot? It kind of sounds strange, but when I use it, within about 3 hrs of application if I get warm/hot, my face feels like its on fire or like there is acid being rubbed all over it. There is no redness or swelling, but it seems like a possible allergic reaction to me. |

So I tried Shiseido and I really like their Dual Balancing. But again, oil slick. And I go in to get their matte foundation and it is being discontinued. Argh. So I went to Makeupalley and a few other sites I frequent and checked out Illuminare. I bought the Ultimate All Day foundation. It is very matte. I am using my mattifiers under this as well. I have to say that the past two days, I havent had to blot but once per day and the blotting is occurring far into the day. This is great so far. I hate to get my hopes up. Oh and the Alabaster color seems to be my dead on color choice. Yes, I am that pale.

My Mood: Points: 1,689.79 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,689.79 | I've switched to mineral makeup and I am addicted. I've had really bad acne, thank you PCOS, and I've started using the Proactive cleanser and moisturizing lotion w/spf 15. Once I do that, I use Everyday Minerals on top of it and it does a pretty good job covering up acne. Now for bad spots, I may cheat and use a little bit of Neutrogena foundation to help block some redness, but other than that, I just stick with the Everyday Minerals.
They're extremely reasonable and I've just got my second shipment in. Because I don't really wear makeup much, I get the sample kit which is free, you just have to pay shipping, and a little goes a long way. You get 3 foundations, 1 face color, and 1 concealer. If ya'll want to try it, go to www.everydayminerals.com. I definitely recommend getting the sample kit first. I also bought one of the brushes, the flat top brush and it feels divine and hasn't shed yet.

there are a lot of make-up companies that are coming out with their own versions of mineral make-up...many of those have talc in them...you gotta look carefully to make sure you really are getting B.E. bare minerals. for the most part, you can only get bare minerals online...very few stores actually carry the "real" stuff, and those who do are mostly beauty salons. |
