I bought my Bare Minerals at Shoppers Drug Mart. Sephora and the Shopping Channel also sell it.

While it hasn't completely stopped my acne, it has helped alot. Depending on your skin it will show pores and lines. When my skin is in good shape it looks great. When it's not, not so much. I find that the translucent powder (can't remember the name) helps alot.

Arrow AWESOME makeup!

I have moderate acne, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Physician's Formula makeup. You can get it at any drug store. It's all-natural & mineral-based like Bare Minerals, but way cheaper! I think mine was a starter kit that was $29.95 for foundation, blush, & finishing powder. I also bought the concealer powder for about $8, and it works GREAT! Oh, and I also really like L'Oreal Bare Naturale's lip gloss & mascara, & Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Duo eyeshadow.

I use Sheer Cover makeup. It has the best concealer compact ever. Great mineral makeup. I won't use any other makeup ever.

I use Bare Minerals loose powder and so far am not TOO impressed. I like the bits of light reflectors in it, but it seems to make my face look too caky in a way. I may try Almay, since I've heard good things about it. I also use CG Clean & Clear I believe it's called. That works pretty well because it is so light, but still smooths out my skin.

I don't like Bare Minerals either. It made my face itch but sheercover didn't...don't know why though.

As with any makeup, proper cleansing is essential.

Vichy - Dermablend

It covers imperfections amazingly and creates a seamless face. You need a dob smaller than a 1/4 the size of a penny to cover your whole face. It easily blends with moisturizer without compromisiing coverage. It also has an SPF 30 built in.

If you use the translucent powder, it provides 24hr coverage and is sweat and water resistant.

I LOVE this product!

I think it depends on what skintype you have and how your skin reacts to certain products. I think mineral makeup would work best though because it does give good coverage and doesnt clog your pores

I use Mary Kay. There are different types for different types of skin. Just remember whenever you are starting a new skin care line or makeup, it takes at least two weeks to start working well with your skin chemistry.

my dermatologist recommends any non comedogenic makeup... like covergirl. Any makeup that says "won't clog pores" is considered non-comedogenic. Hope this helps

The only thing I have ever been able to use is the Physicians Formula brand. They now have a mineral wear line too. It is not as expensive as the department store brands (which I have tried and did not work for me) You can usually find it at Target, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Longs/CVS, etc. The mascaras work well if you wear contacts (they don't flake on me)

This is a good thread...
I was a devout bare minerals user for a few years...but my skin has since changed and unless I use a primer I cannot use bare minerals. The foundation ends up looking cakey and my pores look HUGE when I use it now. I have been using Clinique (I can't remember the name) and it makes my skin look okay, but I'll probably be looking for something better soon

Not sure if Merle Norman is in Canada but their new mineral makeup is AWESOME! And it doesn't have the ingredient that is in Bare Minerals that makes your face itch.
