What is a good brand of makeup that won't make me break out more?
I don't know about one that makes you break out more or not really. I found though, that after years of dry yet oily skin, Mary Kay products have worked well with me. Between switching to Mary Kay's line of Time Wise Products and starting YAZ, i've had the best skin of my life, despite actually wearing MORE makeup than I ever have in the past, even during my teen years when I wore tons....
I’ve had really really bad acne for a long time. I recently did a 6 month session of accutane (sp?) and since then I’ve received several complements on my skin….But then and now my fav. is Prescriptives. It covers perfectly but does not make me feel like I have a double thick face.
M.A.C is an AMAZING line of products! I used them for a long time because they give a great cover. Unfortunately I now have two friends who work for MAC, one in Beverly Hills and the other in Down Town Hollywood. They have both told me, MAC was originally designed for 8 hour under lights full coverage tone highlighting wear. Which in everyday terms means….its for runway, model, actress use. As the years go MAC is adjusting to the everyday woman, but the base of all there foundations and powders is to stick to your face and leave it untouched all day…which means it cant breath! I do love it though, I keep a studio fix at home for important things…like when I’m a brides maid or things like that. I do wear their eye shadow everyday…and eye liner, and mascara, and lip products…lol…and I put my prescriptives foundation on with MAC brushes…lol… I just cant use their foundation on a daily basis after learning about the ingredients. But MAC eye shadow is triple pigmented and will out last any color on the block. It is just great stuff to say the least!
Goog luck everyone!

For those of you that use BE or any mineral make up......... In addition to the dark hair on my eyebrows, lip, and chin, I have blonde hair just about all over my face. I've used the mineral make up and it seemed to make those hair stand out....i looked.. well.. "powdery" for lack of better description.. and I didn't use a whole lot. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Calially: i too have the 'long blonds' as i call them...however, because i need to do hair removal of the coarse dark hairs on my chin, i just shave....i only have to do it maybe twice a month on the blond areas and then the area is perfectly smooth for a few weeks and MMU applies like a dream because it's applied directly to your skin and there is no blond hair to get in the way...i've never ever in over a year of shaving had anyone mention anything at all about noticing that i have tiny spiky blond fuzz sometimes and sometimes i don't.... i think that even if they did notice, they would just assume i use some type of hair removal, the same as 99% of women do...
once you try it, it's just so quick and easy to keep down to the level you are comfortable with....some may let it grow long again, some may shave every few days to stay perfectly clean and some occasionally like me who only does it every few weeks because it takes a while to grow out noticeabley...
The best brand that I have found and the one my derm said was the best is Bare Essentials. It is a bit pricy but Ulta has a starter kit that is fairly priced and QVC may have one too. I am hooked on it and it does a super job of covering acne and you can't feel it.
I use the Tea Tree products from The Body Shop. They are really awesome! And to help control my break outs, i no longer wear foundation. Its really made a difference to my skin.

I don't have a problem with acne, but I really like MAC makeup. The powder, called Studio Fix, gives an excellent coverage. It can be used wet, dry, or even as a combination. You can find it at big Dillard's stores. There are even MAC stores in big malls. It has never broke me out, nor anybody I know who wears it.
They have a complete line of makeup, all in beautiful colors!
Good luck in finding something that works for you!
I have to agree, MAC is the best make-up I've ever used. I used to use Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, but it made my break out like crazy.
I use MAC Studio Fix foundation and powder. I only need just enough to blend and even out my skin tone, but not really to cover blemishes since my skin is completely clear these days. One compact will last me at least 3-4 months. They also have a great promotional deal called "Back to MAC" where if you bring in 5 or 6 empty containers, you get a free lipstick.
KEY TO APPLYING YOUR FOUNDATION OR ANY MAKE-UP PRODUCTS TO YOUR FACE: Don't EVER use your fingers - spend the $ and get yourself a decent make up brush for applying foundation, concealers, blushes, etc.

I use Bare Minerals (Bare Escentuals) from the infomercial... They also have them in select cities. They are based out of San Francisco I think, but we have one in Denver, there is a few in the Chicagoland area, and probably many others to come. You can order online, from a store, and also Ulta sells the product. I love it for my face (very acne prone) because it is so light. It is a powder that you brush on to whatever coverage you like...all of which feel and look sooo natural! I still have issues with some acne (I need to start using ProActive again), but the makeup itself doesn't contribute to the breakouts from what I can tell.
Mary kay has the #1 skin care line (since 1983), and I'm not talking about make up I mean cleaning your face and controlling breakouts. They have a line for normal to dry, combination to oily, and something for acne proned skin. I use it and my face is clear with few breakouts (1 or 2 around AF). You can go to their site www.marykay.com where you can find a consultant near you or you can contact me bchouest21@hotmail.com and I can answer questions. It works very well and their product lasts long too. The great thing is if you purchase it and you don't like it you can exchange or get your money back. I prefer if you are interested in the product to go to the website to purchase, I can answer any questions you may have but I'm not looking to build a customer base with my pcos cysters, I offer this informatin only has someone who wants to help, I know what it's done for my face and my SIL (who had the worst face I've ever seen). I hope this is okay if it isn't please let me know I don't want to break any rules or step on anyones toes.

I am a make-up slave. I got the bare essentials kit but am afraid to use it yet (seems complicated) so I am using up my MAC tinted moisturizer and Cover Girl power (a new one I think it is called OUTLAST or something like that). I use a really thick under eye cover up I got from some infomercial.
I just ordered Mary Kay's NEW tinted moisturizer. It has a SPF of 20, the MAC one is only 15 SPF as is the Covergirl tinted moisturizer.
I do not use thick coverage on my face since it makes me break out.
After I use up most of my tinted moisturizers, I will start the Bare Essentials.
The tinted moisturizers don't seem to make me break out so much, but I use acne medicine on my face day and night. ALL THE TIME.

Don't be afraid of the Bare Minerals - it is actually so much less complicated that traditional foundations. You never have to worry about a line on your jaw and it blends sooo smoothly!!!! Just give yourself a couple of days to adjust to the amount of coverage you like, and you will be hooked.
I have been using there foundation and shadows for six years now. LOVE THE STUFF!!!!
