Default Make your own portion-controlled frozen meals for less...

If you like the convenience of portion-controlled frozen meals, but don't like the cost, or the additives, or the sodium, or the carbs, or the whatever...here's a solution: Make and freeze your own using a Food Saver!

I've had my eye on one of these, however, however, I didn't care for the price, but the outlet has the machine for $40 (instead of $200).

Outlet 2 FOODSAVER

Just make up an entire batch of food for the week (or the month), freeze it, and you're good to go.

Here's what their portion control plates look like, but I'm sure any 'freezer-friendly' plate will work:

I make and freeze my own but I just use freezer containers. I usually work out the nutritional value for the whole amount and then divide it up and put a sticker on it!

In the morning I can take one out of the freezer and it'll be ready to heat up by the time I come home and I just add a big salad to it

We have the Black and Decker version of the vacuum sealer and we got it at Walmart. I love that thing! You should see our freezer! It's like a vacuum sealed paradise! HA! My family makes fun of me because I'll vacuum seal anything! It is a great machine though!

This sounds like a great idea! How do you work out the nutritional value of foods accurately?
