Default Managing PCOS After Kids without BCPs

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had any information on managing PCOS without birth control pills. I have already had two children so PCOS is no longer a fertility issue for me. I would like to cycle on my own. Can I do this using metformin even though pregnancy is not desired? Has anyone who is a lean PCO patient without IR had any success doing this without artifical hormones? What if I go really low on carbs, would this help my cycles out even if I am not overweight?

Thank you.

I completely understand how you feel about wanting to regulate your hormones/cycles even though you aren't ttc. I would talk to you dr about trying met... it doesn't seem to work for me, but others swear by it.

If met doesn't agree with you, you could try eating low carb or following an insulin resistant type diet. That's what I do, and I really notice a difference in my symptoms when I'm diligent with it - my hairloss gets better, skin is clearer, and my moods are more even.
