My Mood: Points: 21,215.37 Bank: 1.81 Total Points: 21,217.18 | manitoba cysters Ok, I got my referral for Heartland (October 11). I will be seeing Dr. Lee. What is he/she like? Also, what can I expect from the appointment? I have never taken Clomid or had any surgery. Oh, and what is covered under Medicare and what's not? THANKS!

Points: 1,920.69 Bank: 7,369.76 Total Points: 9,290.45 | I had Dr Lee. He's fantastic!! He's a little chinese man, very sweet, but very direct. Be prepared for him to tell you to have sex, sex, SEX!! lmao Too funny. When I went in, he sent me for a whole bunch of tests (blood tests) and wanted me to lose some weight, so he prescribed metformin. At my next appt, I had lost a few pounds and was incredibly anxious to start clomid. He was a little hesitant, but I promised I'd stick with the work in progress weight loss. I only had to take 2 rounds of 50mg of clomid and was pregnant. I was confirmed by his office at 6wks. All of my appts were covered by manitoba medical, but if an ultrasound needed to be done, it cost $50 each time. Also, any prescriptions I got were covered by my work medical plan.
Good luck! Only a month away, it won't take long!!

I feel so blessed that we live in a province where nearly all of this is covered. I can't believe what so many of the American cysters have to go through financially for ttc. Anyway, I'm excited for next month. (Dh dreads it because he's afraid of doctors.) It's cool to think that I could be pg by Christmastime.

I forgot to mention as well...Dr. Lee will probably want to get hubby to do a s/a as well. (Just to cover all the bases of course). My dh was given the little bottle and he just couldn't go through with it (lmao) We both knew it was all me anyways so he just didn't bother, and the doc was okay with that too. As for Dr. Lee being direct, it's not in a stern way at all (which is what I don't like) He's a tell it like it is kind of guy and that's the great thing about him!
Keep us posted! I can't wait to hear how things go!

My Mood: Points: 21,215.37 Bank: 1.81 Total Points: 21,217.18 | Eek. Dh has already done two s/a's within the last 2 years (it took one year to get him to do the first one and then another whole year of hounding to get the second one). The last one was a few months ago. The results were slightly below average #'s and motility, but my gp said it was nothing to worry about (he had been on antibiotics both times the samples were done). Do you think Dr. Lee would ask for another one? Dh says he will not do it again.
