My Mood: Points: 2,548.50 Bank: 1,497.95 Total Points: 4,046.45 | Manitoba Cysters - got my endo appointment.. I am going to see Dr. Woo at the Winnipeg Clinic on Tuesday, October 3. Has anyone dealt with this doctor? Might someone be able to give me a heads up as to what to expect? I don't even know what sort of questions to have prepared ahead of time.
Any input/advice would be greatly appreciated.

BeetleGirl: Did you used to live in Montreal? I seem to remember talking to you when I lived out there.

I've never been to the WPG Clinic, so I have no advice, but wanted to wish you good luck!

If you check out my posts in The Mommy Forum (August Mommies), I've posted tons of pics!

I have not lived in Montreal. I lived in Toronto, Calgary and now Kelowna.
However I used to be a very avid poster here on Soulcysters which could be why I seem familiar. |

My Mood: Points: 2,548.50 Bank: 1,497.95 Total Points: 4,046.45 | Not sure what to make of my endo appointment. He asked me why I was there. I told him my dr told me I had PCOS and sent me to see him. He didn't confirm or deny. He asked what I knew about PCOS, so I told him. He elaborated slightly on a couple of things.
I see him again in 6 months. In the meantime he wants me to try to do this without medication (ie, metformin). He wants me to lose one pound a week. He highly recommended I get off the seroquel and possibly the effexor. He is glad I am going to see a dietician.
Not much else to tell...
Sheree

Points: 1,920.69 Bank: 7,369.76 Total Points: 9,290.45 | Are you TTC? I know that when I went to Heartland, although I was prescribed Met, my doctor didn't want me on Clomid right away. He wanted me to lose weight first. They say that weight loss can trigger ovulation, so they would want to try that route first.
Good luck with your weight loss! Are you joining a gym? Walking is good...that is what my doc said to do a lot of!

Good Luck!

My Mood: Points: 2,548.50 Bank: 1,497.95 Total Points: 4,046.45 | He said that both the Effexor and Seroquel are contributing to my weight problem. I cut the Seroquel out cold turkey but all the research I have done states that you need to wean yourself off of Effexor. I'm going to talk to my GP about it when I see her in November.
For the time being I have started exercising (first two days 15 minutes on the bick, next two days 20 minutes on the bike, today 25 minutes on the bike) and am following the excellent suggestions that the dietician gave me.
To date, have lost five pounds!
