I was referred to the Heartland Fertility Clinic by my OB/GYN and was set up with Dr. Lee. He's a very sweet doctor, very to the point, but I absolutely adore him! I know there is a doc at the Winnipeg Clinic that Chantal can attest to as well
Good luck!

Tracy - you're due??!! Any sign of the little one making it's enterance? |

We're thinking it's a boy because he's late (just like dad ALWAYS is)! Dr. Seager said she won't let me go past 10days over so it's a waiting game now! At my checkup yesterday I was 1cm (she said almost 2 but I think was being generous lol) but the baby's head is still really high so here I sit!!
*sigh*

My friend saw her doctor when she was pregnant and the doc said that her body wasn't prepping at all for labour (baby still high, closed cervix, etc). She phoned me that night super upset because she was sure baby was on its way...and she went into labour and delivered the baby that night!
Hang in there...it'll be anytime! |

My Mood: Points: 21,220.37 Bank: 1.81 Total Points: 21,222.18 | Yes, I am looking in Winnipeg, although Winkler/Morden/Altona would be ok.
Is Dr. Salamon a gp? My current gp is reluctant to do referrals, and won't do it at this point for either PCOS or infertility. She's having me try Clomid now -- even though my cycles are relatively normal and I always o -- and I don't even know if my tubes are blocked or anything like that. Plus, she has no clue about the role of progesterone for cysters. Mine is very low but she wouldn't prescribe a supplement! How could she get out of medical school without knowing this stuff?
Sorry, I'm very frustrated right now!
Thanks for the help! I know there's a hotline out there for doctors accepting new patients. Maybe I'll try that again. I NEED a doctor who will let me do research on my own condition and who will listen to me when I tell them what I think! (I'm an educated person who does copious amounts of research on everything. My doc really dislikes this and would prefer that I would just trust her on everything. Sorry, I don't do that.)

My Mood: Points: 21,220.37 Bank: 1.81 Total Points: 21,222.18 | Ooh, I just thought of something. I've been in emergency/urgent care twice in Boundary Trails hospital -- related to whiplash, not PCOS -- where I've mentioned to several different physicians that I have PCOS. Both were South African doctors and both were familiar with the condition. Maybe South African doctors get more training about this? And there are more South African doctors in the rural communities. Maybe I'll just try Winkler or Altona right off the bat. Or maybe Steinbach . . .

Points: 1,920.69 Bank: 7,369.76 Total Points: 9,290.45 | In Manitoba, you can find a family doctor by calling the Family Doctor Connection Line at 204-786-7111 or toll free 866-690-8260. TTY/TDD call 711 relay service or 1-800-855-0511. You will be informed which doctors in your neighbourhood are accepting new patients, and how to get in touch with them.
I found it on this website: http://www.gov.mb.ca/health/guide/2/physician.html
HTH!!

My doc filled out the paperwork to schedule an induction so I'm to expect a phone call from the hospital on the weekend to let me know when I'm to come in! (Unless of course by some miracle this little one decides to show up before then) but I really doubt it lol
And you're VERY welcome Hope you're able to get somewhere with it!
