Wink Many questions, no answers...

Can one of you tell me if there is something I can do to help me control my PCOS? I'm not drinking any medication now because I don't want to get pregnant until I lose some weight. My question is:

Do Dr's only give us medication when we want to conceive? or can we get a treatment before that, at least to help us when we decide to TTC.

Can anyone tell me?

Thanks...

My Dr put me on BCPs and asap I will be trying MET. These can be taken to help regulate cycles and ease some of the other symptoms. I wanted to TTC but my Dr wanted me to have regular cycles and loose some weight first. She was afraid that if I gained weight from having a baby it may make my PCOS worse.

I am not TTC because I already have 2 kids (had them before I was dx) and the hubby had a vas. My doc is still willing to treat the PCOS. He said ablation was an option for me to control the bleeding and since I am not TTC I won't have to worry about becoming sterile from it.

im TTC now but i kinda um messed things up..like i totally forgot to take my BCP for a week...i lost them while i was on vacation...anyways i was supposed to stay on BCP and talk to my doctor about fertility drugs or something that will help me conceive..but ya i missed everything up..i explained to her that the only reason AF was regular was because of BCP and before that i went 3-4 years w/o AF so not once in my mind have i O'ed..she told me that in order for the conception process to be easier my body needs to easily transit from the BCP to the fertility drugs and me forgetting to take the BCP screwed everything up and i now have to wait 3-4 months to start the fertility drugs but i am on met and there is a possibility i might O on met alone..well see

it could be worse for me tho...i think they said you need to try for a year in order to be to say u have fertility problems...its only taking me 3-4 months..it would have been shorter had i not been dumb about my BCP

whether or not ur TTC doctors can and should give you meds to ease ur symptoms...like if ur IR then you should be put on met or if ur cycle is irregular then they should put u on meds to regulate ur cycle like BCP esp since ur not TTC at the moment...before i was even thinking about TTC i was put on met, bcp and aldactone to lower my testosterone levels

hope all goes well for you
