I'm done with them. I'll keep doing WalkAmerica, but they obviously don't want me to volunteer. Apparently my letter only lit a temporary fire under somebody's butt. I went to that dinner WEEKS ago, and I got a call the following week from the local coordinator (A). A said that she had some things she wanted to discuss with me about the ceremony. I sent A an e-mail with ALL of my numbers (including cell, which she didn't have) and I left her voice messages on her cell and at work.
It's been two weeks, and I haven't heard anything. Prematurity Awareness Day is in 24 days. There's no way they're just now trying to organize this with the hospital, which means she did it without me after blowing smoke up my butt about how important Rivi's story is. Sigh... |

That is very disappointing, Viv. They let a potential volunteer get away! It's such a shame. I'm sighing with you.

Thanks, everyone. I'm just disappointed because they're the only group around here that deals with prematurity awareness/loss issues. SHARE isn't active here, and there's no one else, either.
I have to go back to the drawing board, I guess. I refuse NOT to let Rivi's story make a difference somehow. | |

Viv I still wouldn't give up. Maybe contact your local paper or news station? Let them KNOW how they treated you. Maybe you can still get Rivi's story out and make a difference!

Thanks, Meghan! I'm going to check that out.
The MOD lady sent me an e-mail saying that she's not getting anywhere with the hospital about the service we wanted to hold there. So NOW she wants me to step in, since Rivi was born/died there. Annoying! I will call her back, since awareness is more important than her stupidity, but I don't think I'll be doing much else for them.
