Without Drugs or Surgery, Massage for Infertility Yields Forty-Nine Babies, Physical Therapist Reports

The women were physician diagnosed infertile and were unable to conceive for several years before receiving the treatment, according to physical therapist Belinda Wurn of Gainesville, Florida. We were encouraged by results in some difficult cases, says cofounder, massage therapist Larry Wurn. Our first success reported blocked fallopian tubes and seven years' infertility, then had a full term pregnancy following therapy. The treatment appears to decrease adhesions and has opened blocked fallopian tubes in over twenty cases, he said.
Early success rates climbed above 50%, comparing favorably to more costly medical and surgical techniques, added Belinda Wurn.
The patented therapy, known as the WURN Technique(r), was the primary treatment in most of the infertility reversals. A small percentage of women had the therapy prior to in-vitro fertilization (IVF) to improve results. Those results are quite promising and are being compiled in a separate study, for publication later this year.
We are gathering data and developing studies in several promising areas, said Larry Wurn. There are indications that the technique may help patients with certain hormonal conditions, added Larry Wurn. Some women reported adverse hormonal conditions prior to therapy, but conceived after the treatment.
At first we thought it might be a fluke, but the infertility reversals just keep happening, said Research Director, Marvin Heuer, M.D. It's remarkable since it avoids risks and side effects associated with surgery and drugs. If the therapist can remove the physical blocks to fertility, the body apparently functions more normally.
According to Belinda Wurn, many of their successes were considered impossible cases; then they became pregnant after the massage. Successful patients were diagnosed infertile due to adhesions, endometriosis, miscarriage, blocked fallopian tubes and unknown cause.
One patient was diagnosed with four years of infertility. She failed surgery to open her tubes and failed in vitro fertilization, but she conceived after one week of the therapy, Wurn said. Another had menopausal hormone levels. Her FSH level was 28, which is considered much too high to initiate a natural pregnancy. But she gave birth naturally, after therapy alone. Our latest success failed in four separate in vitro fertilization attempts, but she conceived naturally after receiving this patented new therapy alone.
Dr. Heuer is conducting several research studies with the Wurns to help quantify their results. They were encouraged by an early success rate of fifty percent treating female infertility with the process, according to Belinda Wurn, Director of Clear Passage Therapies. That success rate appears to be holding and increasing in several promising areas, she said.
We are very encouraged by our initial results, both as a stand-alone therapy and as an adjunct to assistive reproductive techniques, said Larry Wurn. This appears to be a natural complement to many existing infertility treatments.
