Unhappy Massive Strands Fall Out!!

this happens all the time but this is only like the 3rd time this has happened to the extreme.. i was in the shower today and i was washing my hair and strands upon strands kept coming out and i'd just let them fall off my fingers and go down the drain.. no big deal right.. well i had so many hairs fall out of my head when i was washing my hair that it stopped up the drain and the shower water was filling up the tub.. not a lot but i noticed.. i was wondering if this is normal for people who don't have pcos.. i know everyone loses so many strands of hair per day but.. with women who have pcos.. are we more likely to lose more hair everyday?? my hair is very very thick and i was just wondering.. why so much of it was coming out.. im talking like 200 strands at least if not more.. when i brush my hair i have to empty the brush at least twice..

I went through a similar period 2 year ago. And my hair has thinned out so much because of all that shedding that time. I wasnt dx ed with PCOS then but the following remedy helped a lot.

1) Hot olive oil treatment
2) Ok, you will think i am nuts but applying onion juice on your scalp. In order to cut down the terrible stink, mix in equal amount of honey. Keep it for about an hour and then shampoo out. I did that every other day and it helped so much.

i could try that.. it seems like anymore.. any shampoo (along with it coming out some) any shampoo makes my hair greasy.. it never use to before..

My hair isn't oily anymore now that I use Nizoral shampoo. They sell it in the regular store. It removes sebum and may reduce oil production and/or DHT.

Good luck with flutamide! Just be sure not to drink any alcohol while on it!

I haven't had to take anything for several years. My androgens still get out of wack when my weight gets around 180, but I'm able to get it back under control by doing LOTS of strength training. I don't know for sure, but I my feeling is that weight training causes my body to use the testosterone in more efficient ways. Also, once my weight gets back around 150-160, my hormones get back to normal...hair fall out/growth stops.

How do you extract the onion juice and what does it do for the hair/scalp?

You could run it through a juicer.

Or, blend it up and run the mixture through cheesecloth...

(don't know what it does for hair)

Try adding some more strength training to the mix...to give all that extra testosterone something to do.

Plus, strength training will help a lot with IR, if you have it: http://www.soulcysters.net/pick-up-w...stance-160203/

When I was taking flutamide, I was strength training 5-6 days per week. Lots of leg work (ie large muscles)
