Does anyone have Mastocytosis?
I have been suffering from lumps in my abdomen/legs for a yr now (legs since I was 19 & they are in my calves behind my knee)
Although the pathology of the biopsy from my legs were lipomas I still believe they have something to do with the lumps in my abdomen well actually they are on my left & rt sides of my intestines.They hurt & are so tender! I had a biopsy done of 1 on the left & 1 on the rt. & the pathology report showed hives but recommended a deeper biopsy be performed. I then went to an allergist/immunologist & was told she thinks its mastocytosis. SO I have been trying to go back to dermatologist but when I get up that day the lumps aren't as prominent so they cant get a deeper biopsy!! Go figure right! But all these drs have felt them and are in amazement and cannot understand whats causing it!!! But my Allergist who is a phenominal dr thinks Mastocytosis.
So I am wondering if any you ladies suffer from this?

No, I'm sorry I have never heard of it. I'm sorry you are suffering with this though, sounds painful. I hope there is treatment that will help. Best of luck Hun.

i EXPERIENCE THESE LUMPS ALONG THE RT & LEFT SIDES OF MY INTESTINES FOR THE PAST YR THEY CAN GO DOWN STILL BE THERE BUT NOT HURTING OR LARGE THEN THEY GROW LARGE & HURT SO BAD & MY STOMACH BLOATS OUT AS IF IM 6 MOS PREGNANT (MY UPPER ABDOMEN)., MY ALLERGIST & DERMATOLOGIST THINK ITS MASTOCYTOSIS. I HAD 1 BIOSPY ON RT & LT SIDES OF ABDOMEN AND THEY CAME BACK AS HIVES WHICH IS WHAT MASTOCYTOSIS DOES.

My son has been diagnosed with mastocytosis. He got a severe case of hives when he was 6 months old. Now (6 years later) he has these slightly raised spots over the areas where the hives once were. If he gets in the sun, they tan and look a little like an age spot. (the kind older ladies get on their hands)
If they are scratched, they will swell up and look like a mosquito bite. It's a histamine reaction according to his doctor.
BTW-He has many other symptoms of IR and is very active, not overweight, etc....

from what I am reading on it its hard to handle!I dont have the rash like him I just have these swollen lumps along intestines back of calves behind knee, my tummy bloats when they come on & i feelnauseated all the time!!! My allergist calle dlast night & told me she thinks there is a link between PCOS & Mastocytosis!! AH ha!Not like PCOS has npt caused 14 other ailments for me so whats another one! lol! I was gonna rant about my day yesterday however I am just thankful I am alive because mastocytosis or whatever thos is has made me sick for almost a year made my life so debilitating & I have finally gona back to work & am just pushing myself! But I do thinlk 1 yr is way too long to still not have a def dx!!!Ok so I ranted a little sorry! But Im so sorry that your son has to indure this what do they do for him tx wise?
Restfulhaven, Thank you for your kinmd wishes it means so much! Yeah its true u do learn something new everyday! I will admit I am scared! Because researching this Leaukemoia keeps coming up so it has me freaked although I have had every test under the sun & I am so negative for that but my paternal grandfatjer died in his 40's from it so i just get scared!Thanks so much for responding & being supportive of my issue!

Thank you for the informative info! Im so sorry for what he goes thru! Hopefully with prayers he will not have autoimmune issues. The pic u attatched is that of your son?>OMG thats horrible it lloks so painful ouch! Mine do not look like that like I said no symptoms on outer sking way far under the skin as lumps like a tumor lump and they r so painful tonight let me tell you girls i have been in excrutiating pain so I am gettin on the phone in the am and see if we can mpve the dx process along to like by the end of this week cause im in agony, thelumps are all over me on my intestines ofcourse,lungs, kidneys left side, and I have just about had it!! I have been crying non stop although it wont get me anywheres it just feels good to let it all out! I cant keep being strong i have been for a whole yr & now I need to let it al lout cause Im out right scared, frusterated, sad & just in agony!!

I had the deeper biopsy done on one of the lumps on the side of my stomach (near rib) and was stitched yesterday! I am in so much pain!!
SO girls please pray for me we get an exact dx from this biopsy cause next week will be 1 yr of all this terrible sickness!!!
