Default Mature Follicle > Corpus Luteum

Does anyone know the typical timeframe (# days) between these two stages?

Thanks

Yeah, me too... which bums me out because that's what the Doc saw on Tuesday when we did the IUI... BUT... I had an LH surge on the OPK the day before that... so something's just not right. I don't know if it's more likely that he saw something between a follicle and c.luteum, or more likely that the OPK was WRONG.

did he do an u/s to check for ovulation? I hate opk's because they aren't that reliable in my opinion. You usually will ovulate within 24 hours or so after a pos opk theorectically. So, IUI timing wasn't too bad, I would still have had sex though the day of iui and the next two days just to cover it. Incase. Generally from ovulation to af is from 12-14 days. But if you have noticed yours are shorter than that I would ask for progesterone to extend it to the full extent. I found out after my first cycle that was what was also one of our problems. Mine was roughly 7-8 days max before doing th eprog. best of luck sweeite. I 'm not entirely sure I answered you question

Thanks asherlexie!

Either a) the Dr was wrong in identifying a c.luteum - I.e. maybe it was really a follicle, or b) the OPK was wrong and I had already ovulated days before the positive showed up.

I guess it's possible that both were right, but that would mean the OPK detected the LH surge on the way down, I ovulated soonafter that, and the mature follicle very quickly turned into a c.luteum... All of which I just don't think is likely!

Argh.

My doc says the c luteum looks a lot like a mature follicle. So it could be that the follicle had just realesed the egg and not have started deteriorating.
