I hope no one minds that I went ahead and started the new one. I haven't heard from Corgi so I am hoping it is ok.

Sandra, I had to laugh at your post, I'm sure the Dr. has seen worse, I'll do what I can.
Ok, off to get some stuff done before I have to leave for the Dr's.

My Mood: Points: 3,536.54 Bank: 1,583.62 Total Points: 5,120.15 | Hi Ladies! My goodness we have an action-packed May Mommies thread! I was gone 4 days and it feels like I missed a month!!!
Vanessa- We thought something was up when we hadn't heard from you!!! Congratulations on your sweet little girl! I am just dying to see pictures and to hear your birth story. Thanks for the FYI- we'll be DTD a lot in a few weeks to see if we can get things going!! I hope you and Amaya (beautiful name!) are doing good!
Nikkiraz- Congrats on the arrival of Ty Peter!!! Were you waiting until birth to find out the sex or do I have that wrong? Anyway, congrats on your precious little guy and can't wait to see photos and hear all about him and how you're doing!!! To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Karen- The new thread is adorable...thank you for taking the initiative to start a new one as I'm sure Corgi is really busy right now! I am so shocked that you haven't had your baby yet and on top of it, have had so many trips to L&D! That is just too much to deal with- I can understand why you are feeling like you don't want another! Did the doctor say why your body is having so many hard contractions when you're no where near being ready to deliver? I naively thought that you really only get that many when you're close to having your baby??? Anyway, hope you and Tiana have a fun day today!
Heather- Just had to say I'm so sorry you went through that huge ordeal- you're the other mommy I thought would be rocking her baby to sleep this weekend! Gosh- but what you went through sounds just awful! To have all that pain and not be able to give birth would really upset me! I hope your induction in a few days goes a lot better and much more smoothly! You don't need to be put through that again!!
Nicole- I know what you mean about shaving- I tried this weekend for my sister's wedding and it was so difficult! I finally just had to go by "feel" and if it felt hairy, I slowly and carefully ran a razor over it! haha I hope your appointment goes well today and that your tests come back ok! =) Oh, and thanks for the update on Nikki!
Tabby- I LOVE that new photo of your little girl where she's sleeping! That is just so sweet and she looks so peaceful- what a cutie! You sound like you're really enjoying her and it makes me more anxious to have my little girl despite my fear of labor/delivery! She sounds like she's just wonderful. How is your son/step-son doing with her?
Jesi- I understand why you don't want to go for the vbac! Let us know when your c-section is scheduled for! How fun to have a due date for your baby all picked out!
Creme- CONGRATS on 36 weeks- after having DD early, it must be such a relief to be cooking your little guy for so long! Be sure to give us a "hello, I'm here" each day so we know you haven't gone into labor yet!! To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Tiffany- I'm still a few weeks behind you, so I haven't gotten those comments yet, but I'm sure you're getting lots! Hope it happens soon for you!
Lea- Thank you for sharing your birth story and all I can say is, "WOW!" You went through a lot and I cannot believe the nurses just kept brushing you off when you've have three other kids!! Taught them a lesson they'll probably never forget! Glad you and little speedy are doing good! To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Sounds like he's letting Mommy get some rest- what a great little guy! how is your youngest son dealing with having to share Mommy? Oh, and thank you for all the practical advice...I'll definitely make sure my birth plan clearly states that I want to walk around and move as much as possible!
Jess1985- Congrats on your sweet bundle of joy- boy or a girl? Lots of luck to ya!
Sandra- It always shocks and fascinates me that you have 52 neices and nephews...are some of them "step-neices/nephews" or all blood-relatives? So nuts! I can understand why you don't want everyone there...they will all be so happy that you and your DH finally get to hold your little one in your arms that they'll probably all crowd the hospital halls!! How neat to have that kind of support, but probably too overwhelming in the beginning. I am also trying to psych myself up for "natural" childbirth because I'm not 100% on getting the epi and I have also heard that it may not work. Have you found that book by Sears to be helpful? If so, I may go out and get it, too. I don't want pitocin either because I've also heard the contractions are awful...like you've forced your body into doing something it clearly was not ready for. No thanks, and if I have to use it, then that epidural had better work!!!!
***************************
Got back from my sister's wedding and it was so nice...everything has gone okay with her so far so I'm so thankful and really appreciate all your positive thoughts and prayers! It was just a nice celebration of their love and was really about their union and she looked just beautiful! We got to take our dog out and play in the snow with him, which he loved since he's half malamute! It was just a fun, relaxing weekend in the snowy mountains, but as most of you understand, it was tough to sleep in another bed so I crashed last night! Slept good in my bed last night!!!
Funny thing happend though- my tummy really got in knots at the wedding after dancing for a while. I started to cramp up just on the top of my uterus...that's the best way to describe it. I had more tummy pains the next day too when we went hiking in the snow. Not as bad as when I was dancing though. Everyone kept telling me I look like I've dropped and the baby is really low, but none of them have really seen me since we don't live near our family and they don't realize my belly has ALWAYS been this low! haha My brother and I were trying to swing dance on the dance floor and we did these twirls and my Aunts kept yelling, "don't twirl too much- that baby is going to drop out!!!" Kinda funny.
Well, sorry that I didn't get to all my personals, but I'll try and get on here later and post! Hope you gals are doing good and congrats on all the new babies and on those that sound like they'll be born this week! To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. Karen - I hope you're next! SO frustrating to go to L&D and be sent home again. I'm glad that DH is around to support you!
Vanessa - congrats! Funny about the sex! DH thinks he just got lucky last night, but I hit 37 weeks and figured it was worth a try!
Cookin - glad you had fun at the wedding - I can't believe you were out hiking in the snow!
I love that you guys are already talking about "cleaning up" down below - I just realized I need to at least do some trimming!
I had a relaxing weekend - DH and I took a road trip to visit his cousin and wife. It was nice not to be at home worrying about every twinge and getting all the baby stuff organized. We just kind of hung out and took things at a slow pace.

Funny that people thought the baby was going to drop out when you were dancing at the wedding. I had the same thing at my brothers wedding - people kept dragging me off the dance floor to sit down. I should have listened b/c I had my dd less than a week later. Keep us updated on your sister's pg - I'm crossing everything for her.
Skky - G/L on Sunday. We'll be thinking of you and hoping all goes well. It's only natural to be anxious and scared, but know that the epi is always there if it gets too much. Try to relax and take things as they come.

My Mood: Points: 15,763.01 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 15,763.01 | Hi Everyone,
I just got back from the dr. and all is okay for now. The dr. I had today did end up being a little concerned about how little my baby is so, I go in for a follow up u/s next week to make sure that he is growing well. I just hope he is okay. He is overall in the 20th percentile but, a lot structures are in the 10th percentile and it turns out his humerus (arm bone) is "average" sized and thats what bumped him up to 20th percentile overall. Now I'm a little worried even though they told me that he is most likely growing fine and just small. But, they did say once they slip below the 10th percentile, that it is a sign of intrauterine growth restriction. She really didn't think that was the case as my placenta looks good and flow to the baby looks great and I don't have any other indicators. She thinks he's just genetically small plus taking the metformin probably restricts his growth a little. I just hope my little guy is okay. I get worried because it was a "forced" conception (follistim/IUI) and I know there is much bigger risk of things going wrong. Plus, we declined all the genetic testing etc. because we decided we'd keep the baby no matter what... I still wouldn't change anything but, I just wish I new that he was okay. So, yeah, everything else looks good and on track. I'm not dilated at all... totally closed! I'm exhausted... I got about two hours of sleep last night so I'm going to try to lie down. It's going to be a long week waiting for this next u/s! I'll be back to catch up with you all later! |

Meighan - I wouldn't worry too much about your baby having anything wrong genetically because I think you'd see a problem w/the size of the humerus bone. I too had decided not to have any genetic tests done for the same reason as you and towards the end of my pregnancy, the u/s's were showing his humerus was WAY short. Then of course, I was freaking out. But as you see, everything turned out fine. It sounds more to me that your "shrimp" is right on target seeing as his parents are on the petite side. Good luck at your next u/s!
Cookin - Glad you had fun at your sister's wedding. It sounds like you had a great time. I'm still praying that her bean pulls through. Do you know what her progesterone was/is at? Does she have PCOS too?
SKKYY - I wish I could give you some kind of comfort. As a first time mom, I too didn't know what to expect about the labor process. I thought I had syked myself up by watching all the "birth stories" I could so that way I knew exactly what to expect. However, when it came down to the point where the nurses told me they were going to induce, I started freaking! When the contractions started, they were pretty painful...I was on Pitocin. I likened them to really bad period like cramps. I only went through that for about an hour and a half every 2 minutes. After that, I got the epidural and I didn't feel a thing! So I know it's easier said than done, but don't stress too much...you'll be holding your sweet baby in the end and that's reward enough.
Not much going on here. It is definitely nicer now that my parents have gone home. I have gotten on the kids' case now and again for not picking up after themselves. My mom had gotten them into shape about that but as soon as she left, they went back to their routine of leaving clothes on the bathroom floor after taking a shower, leaving an open bag of bread on the counter after making a sandwich, not putting their dishes in the sink, etc. I just want to know when they'll "get" it and I won't have to remind them daily what to do.

My Mood: Points: 48,354.34 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 48,354.34 | skkyy - Awe, don't be scared. My labor was augmented. My OB broke my water and then started Pitocin. Were the contractions painful? Yes. Do I have any other kind of contractions to compare them to? No. It was painful, but I would do it again in a heartbeat to have that moment again when my sweet daughter was born. I had an excellent epidural placed when I was 3-4cm, so the actual delivery was not painful at all. I slept through the remaining 6-7 cm of dilation. Anway, just wanted to tell you good luck and don't be scared....be excited that you are about to meet your new baby. We are much stronger than we give ourselves credit for.
Cookin - Berklee is such a good baby. The only time she cries is when she is hungry or her diaper is being changed. My son is doing well with her. He is 14, so she gets kinda boring after a few minutes, but overall everything is fine.
