It's been great having my mom here to help, but when I have a little down time I feel like I should spend it with her. So I never get online lately. I really miss SC and surfing in general! I know you are getting super close to having your baby so I will keep us going on the next thread. Thank you so much for updating all the info on new arrivals and upcoming arrivals!!
It is so exciting to see that everyone is starting to pop!!! I wonder if anyone will go into June??
Congrats to the new mommies in the last couple of weeks!
I am going to go catch a nap. I know everyone said sleep would be big deal, but I wasn't prepared for this. I'd love to have just 3 hours in a row....

Points: 7,779.83 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 7,779.83 | Cookin- so happy your sis' wedding went off well!!! Glad you had a good time- I don't have a good time doing anything these days!! Haha..
As for the nieces and nephews- it is the total count between my husband and I. I have 3 siblings with 10 kids between them, a great niece, while my husband has 7 siblings with 28 kids (one of his sisters has EIGHT kids) and 13 great nieces and nephews. My husband and I are both the baby of large families, so that's how it happened. Hard to imagine we ever had a hard time getting pregnant with genes like this huh??!!
I talked with my doc today about my dislike for pitocin. He said if it's needed it can be administered with some pain meds, which I didn't know. He told me the best way to calm my fears is to turn a deaf ear to everyone who feels like telling me their "worst case scenario" story. I've accepted I will probably have my own "worst case scenario" story, but by all means- not EVERYTHING can go wrong at once can it?? I will just keep up on my reading and continue to accept the fact this kid isn't coming out without a bit of pain, no matter which way you look at it!
Otherwise, I am also spending my days fantasizing what it will be like to have a normal-functioning body again. I miss the days of good sleep, normal-sized legs, movement without pain and a steady mood. I'm just jonesing to split a bottle of wine with my friends over some good conversation, but something tells me alcohol will be the last thing on my mind once I'm taking care of baby boy.
I will catch up with everyone later tonight- I check in every couple of hours these days while I pass the time to delivery To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

I dont know if you remember, but in the first month, I was on the May board because I thought I was giong to be due in late May. Well, ended up being June 5th, but there is no way I will be due then! I have IC. I am now 3-4cm dilated and 95% effaced and our baby's head is 'right there'. So, I might jump back and forth between the June and May ladies if you dont mind???? Doctors are now guessing the beginning of May for my boy to be born.

My Mood: Points: 18,629.90 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 18,629.90 | Nikisix- Thanks for the reassurance, its just what I needed! I find myself worrying more and more as the time comes closer. I just want my shrimp to keep growing and thrive, lol! I hope the next u/s shows good growth and I'm doing my best to help him along (good excuse to stuff my face!) I'm glad to know that things are going well at home! Sorry about the kids reverting back to their old ways, I know that must be frustrating. Hopefully they will get it and pitch in soon!
Cookin'- So glad that your sister's wedding went well! Still praying for her and her baby and hoping for a miracle.
Tabby- So glad that you are enjoying Berklee and that she been an easy baby so far!! That is wonderful and she looks just adorable!!
Want2- GL!!! I hope this is it for you!!!
Karen- Thanks for starting the thread and keeping us together!! Hang in there!! You've gotta be next!
Sandra- I've been wrestling with my fear of labor and delivery because I found out that I won't be able to have an epidural... ouch! I just happened to find out ahead of time but, its true a lot of ppl go and can't have one or it doesn't work and they can feel everything etc. I'm kinda glad that I know ahead of time because I think I would freak out if I was in labor, half way there expecting the epidural and then being told it wasn't possible! I've been trying to psych myself up natural childbirth and I keep telling myself that it is just a day (maybe 2 but, we're not going to go there, lol!). One day of pain for such a wonderful reward. One little day, that is all. That is how I'm trying to look at it! And I'm just trying to prepare by doing all the suggested excercises etc. and staying as calm as possible about the stiuation. I was reading that if you are tense about it, it'll make the process more difficult so, I'm trying to make my peace with the fact that yes, I'll be in extreme pain for awhile. That's my take on it for now... I'll probably resume panic mode once things start moving along though, lol! I'm just focusing on trying to get a grip!
Dawn- Welcome and GL! The first few days of May are right around the corner!! |

Corgi - so great that your mom is there to help. Take advantage of it and get as much rest as you can. I wasn't prepared for the lack of sleep with my dd, so if anything screw the housework and nap with the baby. Enjoy this time with your mom and baby.

I mean, obviously I expect that there will be sleepless nights etc. but everyone talks about being unprepared or unaware of exactly how little sleep you actually get... just trying to get an idea from you experienced mamas! |

But most babies, at least infants, need to be fed every 2-3 hours for a few weeks. Not too mention they get days and nights confused. Tiana luckily was an awesome sleeper. Also, if you breastfeed then it is all on you but if you bottle feed or pump then your dh can help out. My dh does the night shift to this day. The problem is you do not get any long, nice, REM, sleep anymore. I call it "mommy ears" but you hear EVERYTHING. I was super paranoid and up checking on Tiana every 30 min or so, or I would just want to watch her sleep. It is very surreal. I am sure I will do the same with KaKa. All you can do is try to rest as much now, plan for help, at least from dh or friends and expect to be really tired for a year or so.

Nicole~ Thanks for updating everyone for me, You got all the info correct.
Well I must say this is my best birthday ever. I got to come home today and we got to bring Ty with us. It is so surreal to actually have our little boy home. Anyways here goes my story:
Saturday morning I got up and went to the bathroom and low and behold had lost my plug, it was pretty obvious what it was, along with some bloody show. As the morning progressed I cont. to have brown tint on the TP when I went to the bathroom. I started to notice what felt like menstural cramps about noon but nothing serious and nothing I felt to much about. So I went about my day, working on the nursery and cleaning downstairs, nowing that since I lost my plug labor was in the near future. About 3pm I started having the menstural cramps about every 30 minutes so I figured they were contractions. We decided that we needed to go to Menards and get the last gallon of paint and go out to eat so we did that about 5ish and were on our way home like 7:30ish. I think the ride home speed things up, as by the time we got home and were going to bed around 9 (thinking it could be a long night) they were about 15 mins. apart. So I tried to sleep but that didn't work, contractions were pretty strong. Around 10:30 I called L&D to find out when I should come in because my contractions were about 5 mins. apart at this point. The nurse I talked to told me to wait another 1/2 hour and she would call me. She called me back and they were between 3-5 minutes apart but the same intesnity. So she told me once they get stronger to come on in. So I got halfways comfy on the couch and lasted until about midnight when I couldn't handle it anymore so on to the hospital we went. The nurse decided that I was in labor, they got me set up and checked me and I was allready at a 7 so pretty much ruled out the epidural. She got the more veteran nurse to check me because she wanted to make sure since she was a recent grad, and the vetern nurse told me she could feel a head and we were going to have a baby. At that point, she decided one of the nurses had to stay just in case so this was at 12:30. Once my doc got there about 1ish they decided I was to far along to get the IV pain drug because they didn't want it to effect Ty. So it was all natural. I breathed through the first hour of contractions unitil about 2am, they wanted the rim to disappear, and started pushing at 2 and he was born at 3:07am. They ended up doing an epiostomy and 2 more pushes and he was there. It was kind of neat my OB had me reach down between my legs and actually pull him up to me. He didn't cry right away but was wiggling all around, they cleand hiim up on my chest and he started crying. He is so perfect!!!!!!!!!
DH was absoultly wonderful through it all, interested in what was going on and very supportive for me. He cut the cord and is a wonderful daddy!!!!!!
Anyways I know I said on Friday I would post pictures of the nursery, but due to circumstances it is not quite down but I think the pictures I am posting will make up for it!!!!!!!!!
