Red face May I ask a question?

One of DH's colleagues is in the process of adopting a group of four siblings from Poland. They are leaving to meet them for the first time tomorrow. Once they bring them back I'd like to send them a card to congratulate them and wish them well. I am just not sure what to write in the card... This seems to be a different situation than sending a card for a new baby.

I'm really thrilled they will finally have a family, but what is appropriate to put into the card? Will they even want a card?
I am a little lost and would greatly appreciate some help. I don't know her very well, but I'd like to show her and her husband that we are happy for them.

TIA!

Hi Japan

They will want a card, you could write something like congrats on your new family, or welcome to your new additions.

I loved all of the cards we got when ds come home i intend to put them in his first year album.

I agree that they would love a card...even maybe a small gift. "congrats on the family" would be more then enough to say. A Gift card to some place with take out might be nice.

Agreed with the ladies above. Its important to acknowledge their new family additions. The adoption will be the same as another of your friends who give birth (and I say moreso only becuz I have adopted and never given birth ! LOL)
I like the idea of a gift card to a take out place or even if you are close, stock their freezer with a few casseroles or bake some cookies.
With the time change and 4 kids they are going to be really busy !

Your thoughtfulness will be really appreciated

Well, there'll be no time change - Poland and Germany are in the same time zone, but I like the casserole idea. Hopefully I'll have time to make one - I just had a baby myself.

Thanks for all your replies and suggestions! They are much appreciated.
