Jess, I'm also fussy about water. I like it very cold too........but it's definitely sooo important. The first time I lost weight on ww I was a water fiend--I have to get back on that trend.

Jilconmom, congrats on your loss!!!! That's awesome!!

Today is my first day back on core. It feels good.......even though I don't think I ate enough for breakfast, because I was feeling queasy until lunch. That may have been the met, though.

I had a good workout this morning. I took the dog for a good 55 min run. Tonight I'll do pilates. Gotta love that working out--nothing else feels as good for the body! Even though this morning I was pretty bummed out because my scale is 2 lbs higher--I'm just going to ignore it and move on. I really have to stop overindulging over the weekends--I need serious help in that department.

Hazelnut: I'm doing Core also. I really like it. I've tried both, and I think Core makes me rethink food. Instead of thinking, "it's okay if I eat cake for dinner and nothing but salad the rest of the day", it forces me to be accountable for the sugary foods and breads and such that I put in my mouth by taking them out of my weekly points. And my 3.4 pounds was actually weight I'd put on the month prior, but that's okay. I still did it.

I take back my previous comment... WW is not too much food and should it be doubled I could probably manage the portions! I am not hungry though so its probably the right amount of food for me. Ugh its hardddddddddddddd

What's hard? What part are you struggling with?

One of my big things is getting over eating "because I can". I wasn't hungry but "ooohh that looks yummy so I'll eat it!"

Water is a hard one for me too. But Liquids in general are difficult. I just have never really been one to drink a lot unless I am eating a meal. I need to make that a goal too.

vtgirl-

I've been stuck for about a month now. But I haven't really been counting like I should. Although I pretty much know what the point values of what Im eating are. Still, I don't eat late and I eat fairly sensibly most of the time. occasionally I will have some no, no's but when I want some ice cream or sweets I eat the weight watchers ice cream bars and what not.

I do need the water though. I should excersize more, I know. I guess I will need to get into a regular routine again with everything.

Wanting to eat just because! I think I have found it hard because I just realised I had the points for porridge wrong, so my breakfast was 2.5 points not like 7! Now I found out I have 5 points spare... so i thought if 4 marshmellows is 1 point i could break into the kitchen and eat 20 marshmallows. Then I realised that is this kind of thinking that got me fat to begin with, so I am just going to bed instead!

I also have a problem when I have extra points left at the end of the day. I know you are supposed to eat all of your points everyday, but on days that I eat really healthy, I usually have points left over and I don't know what to do with them.

In terms of water, I find that if I have water on hand in a water bottle, I do much better with the water. I am also picky about what water I drink. I have a Brita pitcher and I drink filtered water. I will fill a water bottle with ice water before going to work, and then I have pretty cold water all day. Of course, I have to get a new water bottle, because mine as a #7 recycling code on the bottom and it is dangerous to use.

Shiv87--I totally know what you mean about the eating just because...I feel you! I've started doing something though...it's a little more work for me but it's worth it. I pre-portion things in baggies or containers so they're exactly 1 serving. For the sweet cravings, I buy fresh grapes and put them in the snack size baggies (they hold about 1 cup of grapes) and I stick them in the freezer. It's only 1 point and they're sweet & because they're frozen they take longer to eat so I have my mouth busier for a longer period of time...and my dessert is only 1 point!

SarahSue--not to threadjack but I didn't even know there was an issue with plastics??

Jess ~ Basically some plastics contain a chemical called Bisphenal A. This chemical can cause some problems and even cancer. As the plastic wears, it releases this chemical into whatever is in the container. This type of plastic is found in hard plastic bottles such as Nalgene water bottles. You need to look at the bottom of your bottle, if it has the number 7 potentially have the chemical in them. I am in no means an expert, so if you are concerned or have questions, please do your own research on the topic.

If you do a google search for Bisphenal A and Water Bottles it will give you a lot of articles discussing this topic. Here are a couple that I found useful:

My biggest struggle right now is drinking enough water...and cutting out Gatorade and Sierra Mist! My Met makes me sick much of the day, then ralphing makes me dehydrated. I've found that water is too hard on my tummy when it's in the throes of nausea, so I've turned to soda and Gatorade. Sometimes ginger tea works instead, but with a hectic schedule, grabbing a sugary tummy soother is a quick fix. I've cut down a great deal, but I'm having trouble going cold turkey.

So...what are people's favorite healthy snacks currently?

Carrot sticks are an old favorite for me. Lately though I've LOVED the frozen grapes. It totally works as a "dessert" for me when I feel the need. I also found these whole wheat pitas that have flaxseed added so there are omega3's and 1 pita is 1 point. I've cut them into triangles & crisped them in the oven & then have them with a serving of hummus.

How bout y'all?

Hi all! Don't know if any of you remember me, but I was on this thread months ago . . . . and then I kinda just disappeared. I'm back now, if you'll have me. I got into a phase where I just wasn't online much and work was really busy . . . and we got into house hunting/buying which was stressful and took a lot of time.

I'm up to 17 lbs lost now and I'm hoping to lose 5.5 more before I go on a cruise at the end of May!

Hope everyone is well- stats are looking good BTW. I'm currently 182/165.2/124

Nicole - Welcome back, and WTG!

Favorite snacks: I've been trying to change from my usual snacks to cut back on packaging waste - Earth Day gave me a lot of guilt this year - but they used to be rice cakes, special K bars, Fiber One bars, high fiber cereal - low point carbs. Now I'm doing apples, grapefruit (fills me up), carrots, celery, nuts and dried fruit (not totally low points, but feels healthy), Dannon Light and Fit Yogurt (1pt and tasty). I'm trying to match some of my carbs with protein like peanut butter, even though it isn't low points, it's still healthy.

Lolo - sorry to hear your tummy is having a rough time.
