Maybe a dumb question, but...

I was wondering how big the Vitex pills are. I have trouble swallowing anything larger than a typical (advil, for example) size tablet or capsule. I am thinking about trying out Vitex. I have been temping and my temps range from low to mid 97s. I am on cycle day 21 with no 'O' in sight. Off of bcp, I am normally annovulatory. I may have one to two periods per year. I am currently taking 60mg armour thyroid in the a.m. I take no other meds except for the occasional Protonix when needed for my GERD. I took clomid over five years ago with no luck. Wanting to go natural this time. Can you help me? Any feedback is appreciated.

Hi- the vitex that I have are about the size of the average Tylenol capsule. They are not huge like some of the vitamins out there- lol! It probably depends on the brand that you get though.

I've also seen vitex in liquid form. I've never tried it but I can imagine it may leave an aftertaste. The one I have is a small capsule (Vitex Extract Plus by Vitanica, bought from Wholefood Market), it's no bigger than a tylenol tablet and it's very easy to swallow.

I used to have 2-3 periods a year too and I probably never ovulated until I began taking vitex and most of the stuff in my sig in addition to weekly acupuncture treatments. Now I have a period every 38-49 days with ovulation noted in half of my cycles. The key is to chart. I suggest the book TAKING CHARGE OF YOUR FERTILITY.

Still working out some things. Currently doing an NPC shutdown for 3 cycles; I'm now in my 2nd cycle. Will see my RE after the shutdown to see if I can go on to metformin and/or injectables.

mines a capsule, maybe you could research opening the capsule and putting it in juice or something? I say research because I have no idea if its possible to make it work that way.

It says on my bottle ....drum roll please.........

For adults take two capsules two times daily, preferably with meals.
Capsules may be opened and prepared as tea or dispersed in any liquid desired.

I don't know if this is true for all, but for this brand that may be a solution for you. I would not however recommend the liquid. I had tired it and I just couldn't get past the taste of the alcohol it was mixed with. I felt like I was drinking rubbing alcohol and diluting it just meant I had to drink more yuck.

Thank you so much everyone. Hopefully getting some very soon. I am on CD 23 now and still nothing. And this spotting is driving me crazy. Been doing this all cycle. Blech!!

The only place around here with Vitex is GNC and I got the only bottle/brand they had. They are 500mg and these things are horse pills. LOL!! I have been trying to find some information on whether I can open these capsules into food or drink, but have been unsuccessful so far. Anybody know??
