Default Maybe I'm jumping the gun here but...

I seem to be suddenly having some side effects from the MET after close to 5 months on it! I got sick with vomitting over the weekend (thanks to those back-to-school germs the kids bring home) and I skipped 2 days of MET due to not being able to keep anything down. I've been eating normally now for two days and have taken MET two days in a row like usual and I'm finding myself battling either a low-grade feeling of nausea or just a general lack of interest in food altogether! I'm following the IR Diet and Weight Watchers so I'm eating food and drinking plenty of water. I guess I'm just wondering if you all think these are MET side effects or leftover from being ill. I lost 3.7lbs last week on my first week of weight watchers and I'm quite thrilled by this as I haven't lost anything since before getting pg with my son. I don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth but I really don't like feeling nauseated. Any ideas??

It sounds like the virus to me. If you are still running a low grade fever - it is most likely the virus. Maybe you should build up the Met again since you got off. Take about a week to build up where you were.

You have two factors at play here...a viral illness and stopping and starting met. Your virus can leave you feeling gross to begin with, but then ANYTIME you stop Met you are lowering the amount in your body regulating your hormones. As that increases back up, you may feel a little iffy with more circulating insulin in your system and more side effects. Dosing gradually can help, but as usual, you need to talk to your Dr about what's best for you.
