I take 2000mg of Met XR in the evening, and (this is the TMI part) every morning when I poop they come out!
I haven't told my doctor yet because I wanted to know if anyone else has this problem. I do have some stomach problems anyway, but this is driving me crazy.

Hi,
I don't take XR, but I'm on regular Met.
Just from reading numerous posts on the Metformin board, it is normal for the XR to come out. It still gets in your system, but doesn't dissolve all the way sometimes....
If you do a search on the Met board, you'll find several posts from cysters who say it's normal for the XR to do that....

That happened to me when i was on glucophage XR.. for that pill it was the protective coating around the pill that your body doesn't dissolve or use.. so it's just disgarded... i'm sure that's all it is...

LOL Zoe! I am SO glad you posted this!!! I thought I was going nuts when I saw that happen to me!!! I am on Met ER too. I guess I'm not the only one!

That happened to me when I was on Met and my doctor took me off because he said that was a sign that it wasnt working or breaking down in my system. Now I'm on Glucophage XR and haven't had that problem even once.
