I was wondering what the price of metformin is here? I've looking online but I know the online stores are cheaper than a pharmacy
I asked walmart about the price of clomid but never asked about met
and what about what my doc would give me to stop a never ending bleed?
what would he give me for that? estrogen? how much does that cost?

Take that PCOS.
♥ Welcome to the world Eleanor Grace ♥
The met itself isn't very expensive, it's the filling cost you've got to worry about. Shoppers and PharmaPlus (and a lot of other 'professional' pharmacies) run about $12. Walmart, Costco, and Loblaws, and Zellers are $8. So if you're uninsured (ie, no cap on the filling price), you're better off to go to one of the cheaper places. I paid $22 a month for my met when I was going to Walmart.
Katie: The extended release version is Glumetza. It's three pills (=1500 mg) that you take all at once, which is good for forgetful people like me! It was about $60 for a month's supply. I haven't started it yet, though. I'd like to finish off my Met supply, first, since I had 3 weeks' worth left.

Shoot, I wish we had an Independent Grocer nearby! I don't think there is one in St. Catharines!
No but you probably have a Zehrs or Provigo or Fortinos right?? They are all owned by National Grocer so they should all have relatively the same pharmacutical costs!
(My husband works for an Independant Grocer so I know more then I ever wanted to know about the company, lol)

I have insurance and pay a $5 copay. My RE prescribes a year at a time but the pharmacie gives my 90 days worth at a time. If you are not TTC, your doctor will put you on birth control to stop the bleed or else progesterone can be prescribed for 14 days to stop the bleeding and then have a normal withdrawl bleed and it should stop. I don;t recommend estrogen because most PCOSers are estrogen dominant and it can do more harm then good. Good Luck!
