Default Med Suggestions

I believe I am insulin resistant. I take spironolactone and that's helped a lot with facial hair and acne. I was on Metformin but it didn't help. I have regular periods and am NOT looking to get pregnant. I've found when people discuss PCOS a lot is brought up about AF and such but that's not my problem. Any suggestions for me?

I'm looking for a possible IR med that can help me along with eating well and exercising.

How long did you take Met and how much were you taking Have you had other test done to confirm IR there is other med for type 2 Diabetes Just because you have regular period doesnt mean you are not pcos there are many types of pcos Im rare myself I dont have cysts but if your hormones are out of balance this can affect the way you lose weight Met did help me I was taking 1000mg a day and watching my carb intake because carbs and met do not mix very well Have you had all the blood test done relating to pcos do you have hyperinsulemia episodes? send me a personal message im really interested if you have the same probs I did.

Maybe I didn't do it long enough. When I was tested all I came out with was High Testosterone. I really REALLY need to watch my carbs but I swear I'm addicted. I like salivate at the sight of a bagel I swear I'm not a big meat fan, which makes it tough. I should make more of an effort though.

Ive been taking Met for about 4 months straight I went from 193 to 160 I too was in love with bread and any carb I came across but I knew it was time for a change it was tough but I feel better in every way now I dont even crave them now I treat myself every once in awhile to some but I know it is not good for my body try to limit yourself daily fortunately I love meat but I limit myself there I eat stuff high in protein and lots of veggies I rarely eat fruit because it contains alot of carbs high fiber stuff is good too. Give Met a chance to work its not going to help you lose weight unless you are trying to help yourself Its not a weight loss drug it just helps your body absorb the insulin you already produce. Best of luck say no to the carbs/sugar! That doesnt mean you cant have a bagal every once in a while give yourself a daily limit of total carbs say like 50 or less and work around that.
