I'm not really sure, actually. I take Metformin as well, but I'm not diabetic. I suppose you could do either.

My pharmasist suggested it only because it can react with things and also your sugar levels as and IR or PCOS woman

I think the main reason is if you are diabetic incase you get hypoglycemic and say pass out, someone will kinda know that you're on medicine to give you glucose of some sort. Oral medications such as metformin is suppose to make the cells more sensitive to glucose but is not suppose to cause a hypoglycemic reaction. I took 2000 mg of Glumetza and have never worn a bracelet. I feel accomplished if I remember to wear my wedding ring.

Met can react to certain medications and dyes. I know you are suppose to stop taking it for at least 24 hours before certain x-rays, dental procedures, and all surgeries. Medical ID bracelets are there to talk to medical professionals incase you're not able to. A lot of ladies have the info in their cell phones instead of a piece of jewelry.
