Today I got my medical file from my RE and I have noticed that many of the documents that I have noticed in my file during previous visits were missing. Specifically Dr.s notes & pictures. This has me wondering...is this typical or do clinics normally include these things. I am pretty sure that there are other documents missing as well but I specifically recall pictures, ultrasounds & my doctor's notes. I would think since you pay for your file it should require everything...but obviously it doesn't. This happened when I left my last clinic as well but since both clinics could be questioned for some of their actions I can understand why some documents would mysteriously disapear.
So does anyone know the common practice of getting a copy of your files?
Should it require a copy of everything or just what your doctor thinks you may require?

This has happened to me.
I have only gotten copies of the "lab results" and none of the other notes etc..
A real annoyance if you ask me!
