Question Medical trial?

I took part in a trial of atorvastatin to treat pcos. I believe i had the placebo, but i took them as i was directed 2 a day for 3 months, no change. But i was told it was a part of a clinical trial.

This was around June last year. Now i was wondering how long it takes to write these things up? Will i be told the outcome of it?

I would talk to my specialist but his English is that bad, i wouldn't know what he was telling me.

I googled it and i saw nothing, although i did find that he is apparently a leading dr in diabetes. hold up i aint got diabetes, i have pcos?

I just had to say that I laughed so much at that.. I've had that countless times in the past, makes things so awkward.. but you don't want to say, "Can you repeat that please?" because you think it'd seem a bit rude.

I'm going to take a wild guess and assume that he's doing it because there's a connection between diabetes and PCOS.. the insulin resistance thing I assume?

Hope you find out the results of it soon though!

I thought that too with the link, but upon learning more about pcos, im wondering why he never tested me for insulin resistance?

I dont know, i guess things could be a lot worse

Was this a clinical trial for a possible new medication? If so, do you know what 'phase' the trial is in? That will give you some clue as to how long it might be till you see anything...

Is it a 'new' drug, or an existing drug (possibly seeking FDA approval for the treatment of pcos)? I'm not sure how the latter process works...

Ahh, forgot that from the first post...

Is that the 'generic' name of the drug?

Depending on what the generic name is, it might be the same as the drug mentioned here:

Simvastatin improves some aspects of PCOS (Hair & Testosterone)

Of interest:
ATTENTION: If you read NOTHING else this year on PCOS, Diabetes, and genetic links..
