I started glucaphage or met it seems that is what everyone is calling it, anyway my dr started me on 500mg working my way up to 1500mg but im confused this is my second week and i figured i would start a 1000mg this week do i take both pills at once or do i take one with each meal? can anyone help?
I took the extended release (Metformin ER or Glucophage XR) and my doctor had me start with one (500mg) at dinner for a week, then two at dinner for a week, then one at lunch and two at dinner for a week (and eventually two at lunch and two at dinner as she had me on 2000mg).

I forgot to mention that the extended release is a little different. The one i take says not to take more than 1 pill at a time so make which one you have
