Okay, I started back in August on Metformin and 3 weeks later my hair started falling out like you wouldn't believe...but had to stop it because I was allergic to it, right after that I started Clomid and chunks would fall out, then I went on Femara and the same thing happened...then I went to Gonal F and it started up again...my RE says that the hormones from these medications can cause early shedding. Now I've been off the medications for over a month and it's slowed down to a normal person shedding. I wanted to see if anyone else noticed hair loss after starting any of these kinds of medications.

I started Metformin 12/05. Since then I have lost at least half of the thickness of my hair and I'm experiencing hair loss along my hairline. I first started really noticing it about 4 weeks into treatment, and by 6 weeks there was no doubt what was happening. I now have tons of hair shedding all the time and sometimes will have clumps come out in the shower.
I had expereinced some slight loss of hair along my hairline once before after my son was born in 5/04, but that was growing back nicely and was about 6 inches long when I started the Met. This time is much, much worse!
I probably should stop the Met, but I'm waiting for an appointment first. I want to get my hormones rechecked so I can see what effect Met had before I stop it. It has been successful in regulating AF. I just hope I still have some hair left by the time I get my appointment!

That's where I started loosing it in my front hair line once I started it...it seems like it's growing a little bit back now...but I think all these other medications I'm on my body hates me right about now My RE says that they're all hormonal medications to help me ovulate and that's why I'm going into early shedding.

My RE says that they're all hormonal medications to help me ovulate and that's why I'm going into early shedding.
