MediFocus Guidebook..does anyone have this? I have a question for you.
I am hoping someone that has this book can answer a question for me. I am having a ton of trouble finding a dr that will give me Gluc without being IR. I read the preview for this book and it says it has an exstensive list of dr in it. I was wondering if someone can tell me if there is ANY dr listed in the book in my area?? I'm in tampabay florida, so any dr in clearwater, largo, st. petersburg, palm harbor, dunedin, tarpon springs area I will be able to get too. I would really really appreciate this if its possible for someone to do for me!!
thank you,
candace

Have you gone to the Dr. forum to look and see if anyone has suggested one in that area? I would suggest looking there or posting a thread that said looking for doc in Tampa, Fl and I bet you get more responses.
i have the book, but it's at home. i'll try to remember to bring it with me to post tomorrow.
i'm curious because i've read posts similar to yours recently... what does glucophage do for you if you're not IR or diabetic? i must research this because i am so puzzled by it.

nevermind, i found some info here http://www.soulcysters.net/showthread.php?t=48708
looks like you might need to enter a study to get on it w/o being IR, but I will get the dr names for you tomorrow and you can take it from there.

It's my understanding that even though some of us aren't IR per se, we still respond to the Met.
I think this might be because insulin + LH = testosterone. So either a) the LH is using so much of the insulin to make testosterone that it's not showing up in the bloodwork, or b) we're not overproducing it to the point that it shows up in the tests, but still producing it enough that the high LH is "magnifying" it's effects. I don't know. It's just a theory, and probably wrong, but something I've been pondering the last few days.
