Default Medroxyprogesterone - still no AF!

OK, I took my last pill for this cycle 9 days ago... this stuff usually makes my period come within 3 days! So, I took a pregnancy test yesterday and it is negative.

I know that it is supposed to mean you are pregnant if you don't start your period after a round of it, but I have been infertile for years and... let's just say that the chances of me getting pregnant are very few and far between...

What I would like to know is there any other reason why I would not be getting a period after a round of medorxyprogesterone - besides being pregnant? Has this happened to anyone else?

Well I have never heard that if you don't get af after provera that it means your are pregnant. You may just need to take another round of it. Some women here have posted that it has taken them upto 3 weeks for af to start. Mine usualy starts after 3-4 days. Like you one time I never got af after using it. I had to do another round.

I have read that it was used to detect pregnancy, before it was found to be detrimental to the fetus.

I thought I would mention (since doing a little research and finding that it sometimes does not work for women who are going off birth control pills), that I have never taken BC pills.

Sometimes it takes up to 2 weeks after your last pill... If it still doesn't come yet, call your Dr. Another reason for no AF is a thin lining. There could not be enough to shed. Your Dr can do an u/s to check this. It happened to me. I'd always get it 3-4 days after last pill, then one time about as long as you... I had some light, very light(no liner needed), spotting, I went in for u/s and lining was so thin that that was all there was. g/l with yours.

OK, I finally got AF! It's a normal flow other than how long it took to get here... I am really clueless as to why it took so long this time... last period i had was mid January, so i was definitely overdue for one. LOL

Thank you for your reply.

I had the same thing happen last December. I took it for ten days and nothing. It has now been nearly eight months since my last AF and I just took my last Provera pill yesterday. I was told by my ob/gyn and endocrinologist that rising insulin levels can keep the Provera from working. My fasting insulin has risen from 12 (when I had my last AF) to 18 (when Provera didn't work). I have been taking Fortamet since January so maybe it will work now. Who knows? It is good that AF finally showed for you!
