Meds, Blood Test Tomorrow and a few questions Okay, two different doctors have diagnosed me with PCOS before. But my GP wants to run a Hemoglobin A1C and other blood tests. What if these come back normal? Does that mean I don't get to go on medication?
Also, does the medication help with fatigue? I'm exhausted all the time.
Okay another bunch of questions. It took me 7 years to get pregnant with my son and my periods are very irregular and I have excess facial hair. However, when I went to the REI and she did blood tests, they were normal and I didn't have cystic ovaries, but she diagnosed me with PCOS. How is that possible?
Then, fast forward a few years and I'm having these weird pelvic pains. I go to my OB/Gyn and she orders an ultrasound and shows me the string of pearl ovaries and says I should go to an endocrinologist for Metformin.
I thought the cystic ovaries weren't enough to diagnose PCOS. I do have the following signs:
very few menstrual periods, excess facial hair, fat around the middle, years of infertility, etc.
I'm just kind of concerned that tomorrow my lab results on the A1C will be normal and will this mean I don't have PCOS? Does that mean I'm just a fat person with a furry moustache? |
