Default Meds and no insurance?

Hi All,
Well I was recently let go from my job of 7 yrs (long story) But now I do not have insurance. Has anyone ordered their metformin from Canada off the web? I'm finding tons of great deals, but do not know who to trust and who not to. Any thoughts?

Hello,

It's actually very cheap here in Canada for metformin, for 3 months supply I paid $37.00, as far as ordering off the internet I can't help ya there sorry an I have no med insurance, so thats out of pocket which isn't bad at all. How much does it go for in the U.S without med insurance?

I have no insurance and I know how expensive medications can be. I get my metformin at Kmart Pharmacy. They have a program called Retail Maintance Program were you get a 90 day supply for $15. I take my metformin twice daily so I get 180 tablets. Also included in this program are many other generic medications too. If you have a Kmart Pharmacy near you, give them a call and ask about that it. I hope this helps you. Take care.

Also try a program called Med Share, I don't have any information about it, but I think that there is information avaliable online.

I didn't know you could buy medications online from Canada. I pay 15.00 at Sam's Warehouse (Wal-Mart) for 180 pills and that is with insurance...I wish the US would have Healthcare like Canada. I use to work for IKEA and the Healthcare was awesome!!! They matched the healthcare like Canada and Sweeden's. It was really good. This is all good information because you never know what might happen.

BTW~that is a nice picture of you!!

well it is a good pic and u kinda remind me of maybe like a little pixie or something like that. or an angel, im just more partial to the fae folk lol. u just need wings!!!!!!

and after reading all this i have to ask if metformin helps enough w/ the symptoms of pcos so that i should look into it myself? bcuz id like to get on it but got no health care. and i didnt know if it would be that easy to get on a free health care thing, or a cheap one, when i dont have a job.

I would try to get the meds at walmart or sams club. I didnt have ins until this month and I only paid $14 for a months supply. But I am only on 1000mg a day. I didnt realize that met could be that expensive.

My primary care Dr put me on it. I did have to find the right dosage and I go back every 6 weeks for blood work. Well, not any more, but did. I don't know if she will still fill the script seeing how I am not able to come back anymore.. grrr.. this is all so horrible! I need my job back!
