DH and I might be meeting a birth mother this week or next.
Is there anything we need to do or ask? We really don't know what to do.
Thanks!

I would ask her how she's felt during her pregnancy, what involvement she wants after the baby is with you and Dh, and her and her family's medical history. Don't worry, I'm sure all will go well. (((hugs)))

The advice I was given was too ask a lot of questions about her. The conversation is really for you to get to know her and for her to get to know you. Don't make it sound like the baby is already yours or that you're only interested in the baby. Ask things like:
-What kind of things do you like to do in your spare time?
-Do you have any specials hobbies or interests?
-Do you have any holiday traditions you would like passed on?
-Family medical history, physical characteristics (for her and the
bio father)
-Do you have other children?
These were just guidelines to get the conversation going. After you begin talking with her the conversation will flow naturally and lots more questions will come up and she'll have lots of questions for you.
Good Luck!!!

I don't know if you've already met with your potential birthmom but I would keep things very light and like others have said just spend time getting to know her. I would also ask her what she would like to know about you guys and be really open.
We talked with the birthmom and birthfather on the phone a couple of times first and then and went to meet them. We took them out to lunch and had a nice time getting to know them.
Save all the heavy questions for the social workers if you're working with an agency. Also I would steer away from discussion about money and definitely not give ANY cash. We did buy them a bunch of groceries but that was it for then.
