Question Memory Problems???

I recently started having memory issues and always wondered what is it from??? My high blood pressure??? Then I was diagnosed in November with PCOS so I am a newbie here and wondering does Memory problems tie into PCOS at all???

That's an excellent question, I was wondering about that too. My memory is terrible for my age.... hmm. I never thought about it possibly being related to PCOS, though.

I have periods of time where I blackout (for lack of better term). While I am able to carry on with whatever is going on around me, later I will have no memory of it. No memory of how I got where I am at or even who I have talked to. These blackouts normally cover anywhere from a couple hours to the longest I can remember (since recording them for the doctor) was over a period of 4 days. They always seem to happen at a really stressful time or in a really uncomfortable situation for me. I have since been told that I have PTSD, Sever Depression and Anixety Disorder. Since I started Anixety Medication, I have found that they happen alot less offen now. I still have Foggy periods where I can only remember some of what happened, but even those have improved since being on the anixety medication. I honestly have no clue rather there is a link between these blank spots in my memory and the PCOS or if it is a side effect from anyone of the other mental health problems I have. Somehow I think that they are all tied together in one way or another, but I have nothing to prove one way or another in that regaurds.

I was recently diagnosed with PCOS 3 weeks ago and I have a journal that I write everything in, passwords, and even the smallest things I should know, and I wondered if memory loss has anything to do with it also?

I also have horrible memory problems to the point where I will get ready to say something and then it is gone and can't remember what I was just going to say or I will forget what I am saying in the middle of my sentence. I forget things people tell me almost instantly sometimes and I have to write down so much stuff to just remind myself. Sometimes it seems like I stutter because I almost forget what I am saying and it is kind of a hesitation thing. Not sure if that explains it very well. I also will be talking and forget the names of things and end up describing the item I am talking about just to get my point across because I forgot what the item is called. lol

I've been having memory loss for maybe a year now (ever since I stopped BC). It kind of makes sense to me now... I feel like my memory is coming back to me a bit more since starting on Met, but it could be all in my head. There is a thread about Insulin Resistance and Memory Loss... do a search for it and it should come up.

I was diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety in June last year and PCOS in October last year. I have read somewhere that PCOS, depression and stress can cause memory problems (see - I can't even remember where I have read that!!). My memory is terrible some days to the point where I can't remember people's names which is pretty bad because I am a teacher! Children in my class come to me to ask me a question and I stare at them blankly until they tell me their name!! I even forget the name of simples things like the library - I often say we're going to that place over there and the children in my class always help me by telling me where we're going!! Pretty bad huh??

Anyway, I find that when I am really stressed or having a bad day, I can't remember things but when everything is going OK, then my memory is OK. It's something I'm learning to live with but can be very frustrating at the same time!!

OMG! I have this bad, my family will tell me remember when you told us about... or the other day you said.... I don't remember. I am missing whole conversations. It's so embarrassing b/c it looks like I'm lying about what I've previously said. It's not that, it's just I can't remember ever saying it.
