I am glad you've had success with the Keeper though, I wouldn't think the brand would matter. Who knew! About what to do with it... Do you have a sister or a really really close, bsuom buddy friend you could give it to? Too gross? I dunno. I, personally, would consider using one from a friend/sister if I boiled the heck out of it...

I too recommend giving it to a very close friend or sister if they would be willing to try it. I have a few friends that I would trust in those matters.

My Mood: Points: 4,561.06 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 4,561.06 | The problem had to do with the stem, or lack thereof. I got really used to pulling on it to get the Keeper in a position so that I could squeeze the bottom to release the seal and remove it. Since the Diva just has that little nub, I had the hardest time getting my fingers high up enough to be able to get it out.
I wish my sister would consider using it, but I think she's too squeamish. I have one friend who I MIGHT offer it to, but I'm still not certain. I'll have to think about it.

Boy am I glad I put mine in when I was having just some faint pink spotting last night. My period was 3 days early! When I got up in the morning my cup was over half full! No more spotting. That's why I love my cup. I had forgotten I even put it in until later in the morning!

I still have to wear a pad with the Diva Cup on those days, but I sill love it! It makes me feel so MUCH cleaner.
If you order it let me know it works for you

I'm VERY interested in trying one. I sometimes bleed for a long time and man am I tired of tampons! I'm worried what it's doing to me and these cups sound pretty good! |

I sometimes bleed for a long time and man am I tired of tampons! I'm worried what it's doing to me and these cups sound pretty good! | Where are you from? Roomie and I bought ours at Whole Foods. If you've got one near, they stock them in the health and beauty section. Be warned, though, they're almost twice as pricey there--~$30. It was worth it for me, 'cause I wanted to try it NOW.
I posted this in response to a rant, but it really is more appropriate here: I got AF two days early this week, and didn't have my Diva boiled and ready to go---had to get a tampon from the non-Diva'd roomie. Honestly, it was the nastiest thing I've done in a while. It felt weird the whole time, and I was panicking about leakage. Removal...ick, just knowing how much "tampon fibers" get left behind. Shudder. Got my cup ready for today, god, what a sigh of relief. To go to work, and not ONCE think about it, the whole day. I don't have any fear of leaks. For me, it's like not even HAVING a period.
You'll see it in other posts, but the hardest part about the cup is getting it in and sealed. I've been using mine for months, and I still sometimes have to take the sucker back out and put it back in. But it's not like a 5min game or anything, and oh lord, the stress-relief is worth it. Since you mentioned heavy bleeding, I'll say that the roomie is on blood thinners, and can't take BCPs, so she bleeds like crazy every month. She LOVES this thing---it's a load off her mind, too.

Nova- I KNOW isn't it the best thing! No fuss! I honsetly FORGET I hvae my period sometimes. It's such a relief it's like a revolution. I wish they advertised, because it's kind of an awkward conversation to have and therefore hard to get the word out. I've converted one friend when in turn converted one of her friends.

Points: 254.17 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 254.17 | I've been using my Diva for about 4 months now. I absolutely love it. We moved across the country this summer, and when we finally arrived here, I was up until well past midnight dealing with movers, etc. Of course this was during my period. I was able to leave the Diva in all day and just cleaned it right before we (finally) got to sleep. You can't do that with a tampon! When I used tampons I would sometimes have to change them every 2-3 hours, but my Diva has never leaked. I love never having to buy tampons and not having to carry them around with me all the time. With the Diva I can just put it in in the morning and not have to worry about it all day. |

My Mood: Points: 1,645.30 Bank: 431.53 Total Points: 2,076.83 | I've never seen them in a store, though I haven't been to any of the stores that I would suspect might have them in a long time. I paid way too much for a LadyCup--with tax and shipping, in US dollars, it came to at least $49. (It didn't sound as bad when they gave the price in Euros!) However, I'm SO glad I have it now. It is SO much easier and gentler compared to the Keeper that I was using--that was vadge abuse. Every time I had to take it out, I would brace myself for the pain. Now, no pain. Neither does it leak, like the Keeper did. I didn't like having to wear a pad with it either. Also, now I use the LadyCup for as long as there is a need (more than spotting/when I just use a pantyliner) whereas I would only use the Keeper for the two heaviest days and by then felt I should let my genital area recover. lol. But anyway, I would say the purchase was worth it.
