Sounds like a great testimonial.
As much as I like my cup and will continue to use it, as soon as I get a job I am going to try a different cup, because I'm hoping that might solve the leaking problems I've been having.

Just checked into the thread to see if there was anything new 'n' fun---and a big thanks to you girls for that. I just remembered AF is due in the next few days (ahh, the joys of BCPs!) and I need to reboil my cup. You ladies are the best (even unintentionally)!

Oh, and best friend hasn't tried the larger size yet (size 1 is working well enough, and she doesn't wanna put out the money again, ha!), is still bleeding like a stuck pig, but is absolutely sold on the cup. Me too. It's amazing.

Hey Ladies.

OK well I am now done with Cycle # 2 on my diva cup.

I love this thing! I am getting adjusted to what days I have to wear this plus a pad, only because it is so heavy on those day. Days 2 & 3 are my biggest problems, but on Day 1, 4 and so on this thing is a god send!

Does anyone else "fill" up in about an hour on there heaviest days? Just wondering if I should ask my doctor about that.

Default Pinkcup

Have you ladies heard about the Pinkcup yet? I went to the website for the Ladycup, and it looks like they have a new one that's the same except pink! It doesn't say why it's pink, though, hmmm. Interesting. The only reason I can think of is so that it matches the blood and everything better! I have no idea. LOL. I still might go with the original LadyCup, though, not sure. I have some time to decide.

I haven't used any of the cups mentioned, but I do use the Instead cup. I wash it each time and use one per period. When the flow is finished I toss it and grab a new one for next time. It takes some getting used to with taking it out when it is full, but you can wear it for 12 hours at a time. I've used them for years now and never had any bladder issues.

Oohhhhh, pinkcup, cute! I noticed right away that my translucent white Divacup got tinged a faint rust color from the blood. That's iron for ya.

Jennifer- That seems like A LOT of flow to me! I am not a heavy flow-er myself but I suppose if this is normal for you, well... what can be done? That's a bummer you still have to use a pad for backup but I am so happy you tried the cup and are happy with it! You are a great testimony because you were so hesitant at first.

Tukeetukee- I can never get the darn thing to stay folded all the way through instertion, it pops open as soon as I release my hand as it enters the vagina. Oh well. Sometimes I just kinda shove it all the way in, and some times I get it moslty in and within 10 minutes the vaginal musces seem to suck it to the right spot. It never works itself too high. I think the important thing is as long as it is sealed around the rim. You don't want it poking out too far due to discomfort, and I would guess it doesn't matter how deep it goes as long as you can reach it. I usually don't worry about rotating it at all unless I can't get it to seal. I check that by running my finger around between the cup and the vaginal wall and pressing against the vagina to allow room for the cup to expand if I find a spot where it is dented in and not sealed.

Okay ladies, so I've used the cup for about 7 or 8 cyces now. I've heard someone mention urinary trouble and I hadn't had that problem before. Well, last cycle it happened one time. I had a BM which sometimes seems to dislodge the cup and cause a leak (TMI!), and then I peed... or I should say tried to pee. Try as I might I could not pee, and squeezed hard to try to go, but nothing came! So I reached in and poked the cup around a bit and as soon as I did that the urine came! TMI, I know. But just wanted to alert anyone else. It has only happened the one time, but it was kinda scary for a few seconds until I figured it out.

I started using the Mooncup about 6 months ago, and ill def never go back now.

I found with tampons that on my heavy days i would still have to wear a pad due to leaking. However with the mooncup (after getting used to it and finding out where excantly it should sit) i have no leaking issues at all.

At first i did find it a little uncomfotable as the bit that you hold on to to pull it out weith was too long and would dig in when i sat dwon sometimes. However, after looking on the website, i found that you can actually cut this to the best length for you, if you want you can cut it all off and it wont affect it at all. Infact it is designed to be cut to suit your individual needs.

For those in the UK if you dont like using internet shopping go into a large Boots, thats where i got mine from.

I hope that helps someone!

xx

That's happened to me, the no pee thing. And I usually just take it out and put it back in again in a better position. No big deal. The pinkcup looks cute!

Jenn,

That seems a lot of flow. I am still getting used to the thing so I tend to over change it. On my heaviest days (1 & 2) I change it about three to four times a day, I usually find it half full.

I always read that "normal" women's flow is between 2 & 4 oz. I could never tell with tampons if my flow was within normal ranges or not. But with the cup I think I have got a pretty good estimate and it seems to be about 3 oz give or take 1/4 oz.

If your cup can hold 1oz and you have to change it full every hour or so, I think your flow is definitely above average.

Yeah, I'd definitely go to the dr about that. It seems like too much. It could be "normal for you", but I'm sure your dr would like to know. And now with the cup you can give an accurate measurement!

Someone mentioned trimming the stem . . . :\ I've been using a Keeper for 4 months now, and never trimmed the stem because it didn't bother me, and I with it on I knew I wouldn't have any trouble with removal. But last night was the night after the first day, which is only night I'm really worried about leaks, so I wore a pad with it jsut to be extra safe. I noticed that the stem and a pad was a bit much, so I thought, well I'll finall trim the stem. So I cut just a little tiny bit off...and now, somehow the stem is bothering me. It pokes when I lay down or stand the wrong way. I'm afraid that if I trim it all off, I won't be able to get it out. Some ladies have no trouble, but personally I don't see how that's possible. Oh well, I thought I needed a reason to try a different cup, now I have a better one. lolz.

Default Not had a good experience with the cup

I know a lot of people here seem to have had good results from this cup, but I just have to say that the past 3 times I've used this cup (hoping for aid in conceiving) I have gotten a urinary tract infection. I don't know if it has anything to do with using it for this purpose versus it's original intended purpose, but it's been kind of a nightmare and didn't help with the conceiving at all.

You tried to use the DivaCup for conceiving? Uh. Would that even work? It doesn't go up high enough or really hug the cervix like an Instead cup or anything. Are you talking about the Instead Cup? Does it look like a diaphragm? Maybe it wasn't washed properly or something else. Because I have never had a problem with that. In fact I went camping this weekend and used the DivaCup with great success. I didn't bleed very much at all, but I used it for three days and never had to worry. That is saying something. Camping amenities often leave something to be desired. I would have dreaded having my period while camping without the cup.
