I think its funny that people are so up in arms about this thread. In effect saying that if you eat raw foods and your period stops you're going to get cancer and bone loss and blah blah blah. LOL Ya eating vegetables and cancer obviously go hand in hand. IMHO studies can support whatever view they think is right in the first place, so if it makes sense go with it, if it doesn't don't. No need to get all upset.

I dont think they are saying that, but it is possible to conceive w/o a period. I cousin did. Her first baby was conceived with 3 periods a year and the baby she is currently having was conceived in a year with no cycle. So it does happen. Rarely as it may be.

You can conceive without periods, but it does not follow that that means you are in fact ovulating regularly. As a general rule, no period means no ovulation - unless you ovulate and produce SO LITTLE progesterone that you make no lining.

You can have a random fluke ovulation and get pregnant, no matter how few periods you have a year. Getting pregnant during one of these random fluke ovulations does not prove that not menstruating is healthy.

If having a period isn't normal, then why do animals go in heat?? Just a thought...

Going in heat and having a period are two different things. Humans go in heat as well, just with lesser visible symptoms. For us menstruation happens about 2 weeks later, animals in the wild reabsorb the lining or their uterus.

Alright, sorry this is so blunt, but all I could think after I finished this was...

I wish I would've realized that this was raw food/vegan propaganda before I wasted time reading the whole thing.
