Question Met and the 2ww??

For all of you TTC, do you halt your Met during the 2ww so that if you are pregnant you dont have it in your system? Or do you cut down on doses or just continue as normal?

dont stop it, met is safe during pregnancy and can be taken up to a certain month I believe. I do not know when though but I would not stop it in the two week wait and then after a bfp comes, talk to dr about options. you stop it now and hell hath no fury than a met scorned.

If you go to the FAQ thread at the top of the met page ( http://www.soulcysters.net/showthread.php?t=48708) , there are studies on met/pregnancy and met/breastfeeding. Recent studies are showing a very safe level for the baby. Some are even showing huge help in terms of miscarriage and gestational diabetes for PCOS women

Above all though, it is a personal decision, so talk to your Dr.

All the best with the 2ww...

My dr actually told me that if I become pg that I would continue to take met until at least 11 weeks. Being PCOS, you have a higher risk of miscarrige and studies have shown that met decreases your chances slightly. Plus, you'll have the higher risk of gest diab and this will help. Everyone has their own opinion, but I am going but what my doctor recomends. Of course, thats only when and if my time ever comes.

Good luck!

Personally, when the time comes to TTC, I plan to stay on met the entire pregnancy.
