Just got diagnosed about a month and a half ago. Started Metformin at 250 mg and doc increased me to 500 after one week. I haven't noticed any differences at all, but my doctor doesn't want me to increase my dose yet. How long did people stay on 500 mg a day?

i was on 500mg a day for 2 weeks then uped it to 1000mg it all depends on your individual body type and what you need.

I am currently on 500mg xr once a day with dinner. My endo says I can go up but I am going to wait one week. I haven't had any severe side effects thus far and I want to be able to give my body time to get used to the 500mg before I introduce more too quickly.

My doctor started me on Metformin 500mg 2x daily. The side effects were awful! I felt like a zombie and I was constantly nausiated. So he told me to drop down to 500 once day. It still made me sick. I currently take 250mg once a day and not sure that it is actually doing anything for me, but I'm scared to increade because of side effects.

To: DKFan81 - Does Yaz help with unwanted hair? My doc said I may want to start on Yaz.
