Hey I am new here, Me and DH have been trying for four years and I have almost felt like given up Iknow that it is all in the LORDS plan. But here is my story I started having irregular periods when I was 18 years old I started gaining my weight very fast and they thought That I had tyroids which clearly I did not. So when I turned 21 Me and DH have been trying to have a baby and now I am 24 and DH is 25 and the RE just told me I had PCOS and I wanted to cry cause this could have been caught earlier, But I still left it GODS hands. I am now 230 pounds 5"2" and very depressed I don't eat much at all I just gain weight like crazy. Can someone please teach me how to loose weight I am not discipline at all I like to get an easy diet, But I will try to if someone will help me. By the way my RE had me on fertility drugs and they saw my follicles were not growing in size so they took me off and my doc put me on met a week ago. But I come on my cycle every 31 days I spotted at day 24 which scared me so I called my RE and he said that the Fertility Shots had me like that. And than all of suddenly I stopped and came on again and stopped again now I am at 35 and I have not had a period yet I took a HPT but it was big fat negative so has anyone had this happen to them please write back. Sorry it is so long and words might not be spelled right but I tried.
Hi sweetie
You sound a lot like me. I starting gaining weight very rapidly at 19. I never had a weight problem but never had a regular period. I knew something was wrong with my body chemistry.
I have been married 7 years and TTC 3 now. I went to my obgyn who put me on clomid and that made me gain more weight and put me at my high of 250 lbs. I was not ovulating at all with clomid either. I am on a low carb high protein diet now and I weigh 226. It has taken me a while to lose that also. I would recommend doing a low carb and excercise as much as you can. With pcos it is really challenging to lose weight. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you get a positive on your next preg test.
I was just diagnosed with pcos not to long ago, and currently am taking metaformin at 1000mgs a day. Im trying to get on a better diet for myself too, and like you, have little to no discipline. Im also ttc, but on #2. If you want to start a diet with me we can try this out together. So far I have cut out red meat and started eating tofu, and subsituting my sugar needs with sugarless cupcakes and icecream and stuff. Its been really helpful, because I love sweets. I also drink about a gallon of water a day and so far have lost three lbs, 2 of them before I started met, it took me four months to lose 2 lbs! and one lb after met...maybe a little more, I havent weighed in a while. Im 5'3 and about 247.
My email is kattforhope@yahoo.com. Hopefully we can start dieting and supporting eachother through this. It would be really great to get to know you.
Take care,
katt.

The best advice I can give is to VERY GRADUALLY cut down on carbs. Pick one carb you will stop eating and do that for a few days, then pick another for a few days...keep cutting out the carbs and see if you loose weight and feel better.
Perhaps you could go to the bookstore and look at the following and decide which one is right for you....Adkins, Sugarbusters, Insulin Resistance.
I gradually cut out my carbs(Dr Pepper was the hardest) and feel great and have lost 12 lbs. Basically I do Adkins as much as I can and when I have to eat carbs such as bread or rice, I do the Insulin Resistance Diet which teaches you how to match carbs with protein.
Good luck!!
The key is gradual...don't go cold turkey.
