My Mood: Points: 1,232.79 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,232.79 | met Hi!!! I have a question....I have been on Glucophage XR since March 22, 2004 and still no period....(aug. 14, 2004) Has anyone experienced this???? My doctor (at my three months check up- June) Said that all my lab work came back withing normal limits...He stated that he wanted to wait another three months to see if my cycles would start on their own. I have not had a period on my own for 5 years....the last time I tried provera....nothing....My endo attributed this to the high insuline levels...I starting to get concerned because I will be 36 the upcoming December..Any advice well appreciated...thanks |

It can take several months for Met to do its balancing act. What dose are you on? If it's less than 1500 mg (the minimum effective dose), then maybe your doc can increase your dose.
That's great that all your lab work came back within normal limits. Is that an improvement from before you started on Met? Sometimes, even when estrogen and progesterone fall within the lab ranges, there can still be estrogen-dominance going on if there is too much estrogen in relation to progesterone.
I have read posts from women on the alternative remedies board who had success when they combined Vitex (a hormone-balancing herb) or natural progesterone cream along with Met to induce AF. You might want to hop over there and read up on that.

Four to six months of therapy are thought to be necessary for ovulation to commence. http://64.233.179.104/search?q=cache...&hl=en&start=4
