Default Met and aches and pains ... HELP!

Has anybody experienced aches and pains while on Metformin? I am such pain recently and I am trying to figure out if it could be the Met. I had heard that it could cause this. However, I have been on Met. since May and it is just recently that the aches and pains have gotten worse.

I experienced the same problem. Since I have been off the met the aches and pains are slowing going away and my energy has improved. I had low energy to begin with and the met made things worse.

Where you placed on another drug? I am assuming that you were on Met. because you were IR???? I am wondering what is the alternative if you are intolerable to Met.

I am not insulin resistant. An endocrinologist recommended the combination of the metformin with dianne 35 to my doctor. This endocrinologist was too overbooked to see me in person so he was ordering blood tests through the mail and sent me a letter from his receptionist telling me I do have PCOS. I went to a gynecologist for another perspective and he wasn't entirely sure if I should even be on the met. So I am wondering if my endocrinologist through corrispondence simply assumed I had problems with weight based on the pcos. I was told to take a break and see if the problems I've been having are actually related to the met. In the meantime I am exercising daily and being very careful with diet. I hope this will be more effective.
