Question Met and Actos together?

Hi guys I have been taking metformin for 9 months (8 months on my highest dose of 2000mg) and haven't resumed a normal cycle. The only change I've noticed is that my acne has cleared up a bit. I'm thinking about adding Actos to my regimen. Did any of you NOT resume regular menstruation with metformin alone, but did have regulation with the addition of Actos? I'm feeling like I may never conceive as I've been trying for 10 years and the fact that the met isn't working is taking it's toll on my emotions. Any success stories or other therapies that worked for you would be greatly appreciated

I haven't heard of taking Actos while on Metformin before. The two drugs do the same thing. That may not be a good idea.
Now I have heard of people switching to Actos after Metformin hasn't worked for them. But never together.

There is a lady on here who I want to say has twin boys who took either Actos or Avandia with Met and with that change (I think she was on fertility meds too) she got pregnant.

Actos and metformin may be taken together. In fact, they offer it in one pill, called Actosplus Met.

Such a creative name, lol!

Jill what mg were you on and why did they decide to add it to the combo? I am not sure if many Drs are still prescribing it with the new issues that came out

I was on 1500mg of Glucophage and I think she added the advantia to possibly trigger an ovulation since she said that my hormone levels were doing better, but weren't "there" yet and I was really, really sick on the Glucophage and lost 20 pounds in 9 months because of being sick and then not wanting to eat.

Since it worked, my endo now has me going to just take Actos since there are less side effects with it and I may tolerate it better than Metformin/Glucophage.

Snow.... what information are you referring to???

When I first started metformin it took me about 11 months to start having cycles again...since then I been regular, I can set my watch to it. I'm on 2000mg metformin and 30mg actos. Been taking the combo for a year now and still no pg.
