Default Met and Alcohol???

An old of co-worker of mine told me to never take Met if you're planning on drinking alcohol that day, even if it's just a glass of wine with dinner. She made that mistake and paid for it the whole day with food-poisoning-like symptoms. She also said that if there was a special occasion and I was planning on having drinks with dinner to either skip that day or take Met early in the day so it would be out of my system by dinner time.

I have a "girls night" this Friday which normally consists of dinner, a girly movie, and lots of wine. This is my first time being invited with this group of girls and it'd be really nice for me to make friends here (we're new to the area.) But it also seems like an event where the girls drink, get drunk, have a good time, and talk and gossip about husbands, etc. I don't really want to skip a day of Met, but I also want to be able to just hang out and have fun with the girls.

Is it okay to take Met early in the day and have drinks later on in the evening? Would it be better to not take Met that day at all? Or should I just not drink? What would you do?

I too was wondering this because although i hardly ever drink i sometimes like to go out for a few drinks with friends every few months and my friends birthday is coming up and i dont want to be the only one there being boring.

I've had no problem drinking on met. I take met with dinner and go out for drinks right after.

As long as I'm just having one glass of wine I'm fine. But if I have 2 or 3, the bathroom trips greatly increase the next day, so I've learned to not take my evening Met if I plan to drink more than one glass. That's solved the problem for me.

I always get really bad heartburn or acid relux if I drink more than a couple of glasses whilst on met, which sucks socializing wise, but is doing wonders for my diet!
