I was SO sleepy when I first started Met. It wore off a bit once my body adjusted, but I fall asleep pretty quickly now compared to before.

Since I started Met on the 9th, I've had similar problems. I'm sleepy during the day but then at night I'm wide awake. I've been running on 5-6 hours a night for a week now. Weird. Hopefully we'll adjust soon.

I also started with just this little problem. Then added All over soreness, Muscle eakness, excessive thirst and excessive sweating between toes behind knees neck I guess where your glands are all located. I called dr. he said not from medication try taking 2 in am. 1000mg at once so it is out of your system at pm so you can sleep. Didn't help at all & I got fed up & called the pharmacist he said these were all signs by body could not tolerate it. Then he asked me if I was possibly missdiagnosed & I explained I was pretty sure with labs & all I had PCOS. Ohhh he said. I said I was takining it for IR he said met was really for Sugar and new drug actos was for Insulin. Dr. was pretty upset with me when I called him he said if I was going to believe a pharmacist who doesn't see pt's. I did not tell him about the other med (That I knew about it dr. that is) But that is what he prescribed. My co-pay was really high & I am still afraid of the new drup pharmasict gave me the drug study sheet to read. Dr. also prescribed Yasmin BCP. I asked pharmacist about weight gain he said definitely, I asked about Actos he said some people experience weight gain. So I haven't started anything Yet!I am onl;y sharing So if this happens to you can react right away I went through the pain for weeks thinking I was going to have to get used to it! It all started with no pm. sleep & falling asleep during the day. JUST FYI!

Now that you mention it, I have been sleepier then usual since I restarted it......but I can sleep and feel like I never get enough anyway, Probably just coincidence for me on that, BUT:

The only reason I know that Met has ever kept me up was when I first started retaking it, it gave me upset stomach and that kept me up some (ready to run to the bathroom).

The only way met interfered with my sleep was because I was in the bathroom so often!! Needless to say, I am no longer on it!!

I hope things are getting better for you!

I'm on 1500mg Met and I take my 3rd pill about 2 hrs before bedtime. I fall asleep easily and sleep until 3:30-4am, when I wake up & have to pee real bad. Once I try going back to sleep, I can't. I just toss & turn until the alarm goes off. It's making me crazy!
