Question met and body hair

I have been prescribed met and am wondering if any cysters who have unwanted body hair have seen a decline with the met??

also are there any gals out there who did not lose their head hair on met?? it scares me to read so many lost hair..i cannot afford to lose any more than I already have....

I have noticed that the horrible hair growth I've experienced for years has been subsiding slowly. I have been on met now for 4 months. Though it's still there - it's not as noticeable anymore - and I have a feeling that it will get even better.

One thing I can say is that I have noticed that my hair has been a little thinner on my head. I've always had extremely thick hair, and I've noticed that it's thinned some. For me - this isn't a big deal - but for those who have experienced too much of a loss and do not want to lose any more, it may be a bad thing.

Good luck to you!

met didn't help my unwanted hair at all and i assume it made my hair fall out and thin (it was thick and full before met 3 yrs ago)...but it has helped in other ways...my blood sugars are kinda normal and in conjunction with byetta, is helping me lose weight.

I noticed an improvement with body hair right away. I went from shaving my legs everyday and plucking my chin area twice a day to shaving once every four days and pucking my chin once every two days. Even the guy I was with at the time noticed the improvement. Downside for me though was the rapic hairloss on my head. Since I've stopped the hairloss has slowed down and I am regaining some of my healthy looking curly hair and new growth at the temples. Though excess hair really bad again.

I know it sounds immature but I struggle every morning with my hair loss. I use to be a hair model years ago for print ads and had this thick luscious mane that was my glory. It is devastasting to have lost more than 50% of it. I have no hair on my temples and the scalp is soo thin.. i am insulin resistant but not too bad and I am a thin cyster. I am an ex gymnast and have always eaten healthy and worked out. My diet and lifestlye has been one of the factors in that has helped me from this wretched syndrome...but i want to have a baby....so that is the weight i have on my shdrs., I know some people may read this and think what a silly toss up but the emotional consequences of this syndrome has taken a toll on me.. and the fact that I am 35 and almost bald on the top of my scalp, is sometimes to much for me to deal with...i do not think i can handle losing more hair. I will have to think this one over...

Default RE: Met & Body Hair

I've only been taking MET(XR) for about 2 months and I've noticed a HUGE difference in body hair....The little hairs on my chin and neck have become thinner and scarse, and like Sian I noticed that the hair on my legs and arms is growing back much, much slower.
Now if only I could lose some more weight!!! AH, that would be a Christmas miracle.....
Good luck! Hope it helps!!

That is a tough decision and it is very distressing to be a female losing hair. Good luck on what you decide and you have alot of people here who understand what you are going through.
